A bit later art for Chapter 2 of wonderful fic In My Veins by @zadusk
Or do you wanna cry? Have you cry enought this day? Go, let them tear and go read (if you have’t yet), please. I love every word, every chapter (it’s complete!) and it truly deserves more attention.
For the fic meme: 4, 5, 8, 12, and 33 please!
Hi! Thanks for the ask, friend.
4. Are there any writers that inspire you?
Yes, absolutely. Within the fandom, I look up to @ineffablefool and @sevdrag in particular, although there are many others that are constant inspirations to me. Reading their work makes me want to improve upon mine. Outside of the fandom? Brandon Sanderson, Neil Gaiman, and Jane Austen.
5. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
Ab Astris. It took so long to get right, but I’m glad I spent the time on it. My version of Crowley in this fic is possibly my favorite that I’ve written.
8. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write?
Depends on the fic. Sometimes it’s Aziraphale, most of the time it’s Crowley. Anathema is always fun, too - she’s like me, which makes it easier.
12. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about.
I am very excited to continue with The Serpent’s House. I’ll be finishing Across the Line first, but I’m over the moon about TSH.
33. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?
I write when I have time and post updates almost as soon as I finish writing them. I used to focus on one story at a time, and I could crank out a chapter every couple days, but as my writing has progressed, things have slowed down a bit. Also, I have a document called “I don’t like killing my darlings, so I just dump them here”, which is literally 40 pages of things I liked but either changed or decided not to run with.

He’s never attempted to invoke his Guardian. He doesn’t want to add yet another item to their litany of things he’s failed at. But when his bullying landlord Gabriel threatens to take his beloved bookshop from him, Asa, with nowhere left to turn, invokes his Guardian.
Nothing could have prepared him for Crowley.
Crowley was created to be a Guardian. He knew from the very beginning that it was his duty to stand beside his Aurent, and protect and guide them. He knows it’s a sacred bond that goes both ways. When he falls from Heaven, he resigns himself to the fact that no-one will accept him as a Guardian.
Nothing could have prepared him for Asa.
Can a fallen Guardian and an emotionally buttoned-up bookseller learn to love and be loved? Or are their two worlds simply not meant to collide?

A sneaky peeky:
“Crowley?”
Asa emerged from the upstairs flat, already fully dressed, but with his sunlight hair still sticking up at all angles from sleep.
“Are you here? I am just going to make myself some tea, might I fetch you something?”
“I can’t drink, angel,” Crowley told him, the nickname slipping out so easily.
“No? Oh, I suppose not. Apologies, I’ve never met a Guardian before.”
Between the word and Asa’s gentle smile, Crowley felt like he was being stabbed in the gut.
“The way I experience the world is rather ghostly,” he added by way of explanation, and because he wasn’t ready, he wasn’t ready, he needed a minute more.
“Ghostly? But I … felt you, last night.”
“I can touch things, even sit or lie down, if I’m in your vicinity. In the same building, or within ten or so feet if we’re outside. I get a sense of how things feel. The spines of a book, the carpet … I can sense the warmth of a fire, or a hot drink if I touch the cup.”
“Ah, well then.”
Asa wandered off to the kitchen, returning a few minutes later with a cup of tea for each of them, placing them on the ornamental table beside the sofa.
“Where are you, dear fellow? I don’t want to sit on you.”
Crowley laughed. “Side furthest from the teacups.”
“Well, that’s no good.” Asa moved the table and cups closer, so Crowley could touch the warm cups, and Crowley felt his hell-hardened heart melting. Asa sat down beside him, his hand fluttering in the air for a moment, as if wanting to seek Crowley’s, before dropping uncertainly to rest on his own knee.
“You can really only feel faint sensations, like heat from a cup? How do you … how did you save me from the carriage, how did you find me those books …?”
“I saved you by touching you, remember? I can touch you. And I can sort of … lean on the energy of the world around me. Drop hints that it should flow a certain way.”
“You’re like a good luck charm.”
Asa smiled in his direction.

Thanks for your ask Allie!
This is a Crowley and Lucifer friendship/ship fic I’ve been writing. In the 1920s Crowley and Lucifer explore New York City and talk about how far humanity has come along, and how much more they need to go. Meanwhile they also talk about how far they’ve come along since the Beginning. It’s philosophy and backstory heavy
I wrote this for the Rare Omens event in February... and am still writing more chapters now. The title’s from Lorde’s “Perfect Places”
Hi! For the ask game, can I ask 1, 12, 14 and 15 please?
Hi! And yes. This was fun :-)
1. name a movie that makes you feel like a kid again
The way we watched movies in my 80s childhood was my mom would borrow VHS tapes from the library. And these were not, like, the movies that just got shown in theaters. These were super old movies like Old Yeller and The Sound of Music and things like that. It was all they had at our library. I watched those two A LOT.
12. name a scent you wish you could smell forever
I went hiking and camping in Utah and southern California one spring and I loved the scent of evergreens in the desert. I think it would probably be something like that. Or else the petrichor rain smell. Gotta love that.
14. name a small thing you do to make your day better
So not every day but like 3 or 4 times a week I've been lifting weights again. It makes me feel really good and I like having well-defined muscles again. It helps my mental health and sense of self when my arms and shoulders are just bulky — well, bulky for me. I'm on the small side for a human...
15. name a musician that soothes you
Tori Amos' music helped me cope during my teenage depression. I still go back and listen to my favorite songs of hers. Crucify comes to mind.
I love your art so much! Looking at it makes me smile.
Oh goodness- thank you, that means the world.
