I think a core part of the Steampunk genre is a romanticisation of Victorian Britain, the height of the British Colonial Empire. How does Zairoo differ from or challenge these colonialist ideas that are so central to its genre?

So, the primary difference is one of perspective and origin. Instead of romanticizing the colonial empire, Zairoo romanticizes resistance, resilience, and reclamation. it's a story about the people of those lands mastering steam and spirit technology to protect their sovereignty, explore their own continent, and build a future defined by their own values

Hey just wanted to say I donated and am super excited for Zairoo!! I was honestly sold when you said Pan African fantasy and was slapping my cash on the table as soon as you said steampunk hahahaha

Love this one lol I honestly been on tumblr since 2010 so finally getting anonymous asks like this are making me cheese, I'm excited for Zairoo as well and it makes me happy to see ppl feel the same
