Memories of a time spent on Zamami Island. Where I camped, where I met the rain. これは、僕の秋のスケッチ。座間味島で描きました。

This is a statue of Marilyn the dog on Zamami Island.

In the 80′s there were two dogs, Marilyn and Shiro, living on Zamami Island who played together very often. One day Shrio’s owner packed up and moved to the neighboring Aka island taking Shiro with them. 

Shiro would often go missing during the day, and the owner decided to follow and find out where he was going. 

It turns out that almost every day Shiro would leave home, run to the ocean, swim about 3 miles to Zamami Island where his friend Marilyn patiently waited for him, play with his friend, and then swim home for dinner.

Then a couple years later someone made a rom-com movie about it that was moderately successful. The end.

There is also a statue of Shrio on Aka Island.

On the ferry it was very windy but it so warm around here that the breeze is really nice :3 the water is so beautiful *_* #ferry #zamami #sea #ocean #japan

Framme på Zamami Island! Två timmars färja ifrån Naha på Okinawa-ön. Här är det otroligt vackert, med gröna berg som sticker upp ur turkost vatten. Det är ca 20 grader i luften men blåser som attan. Det är skön stämning på hostlet och jag har hängt med ett litet gäng hela dagen, vi har varit på stranden och varit ute och ätit både lunch och middag. Det fanns massa bra mackastenar!! Och det var perfekt temperatur för att ligga på stranden i bikini. Var även i och hängde i det vackra vattnet, så underbart, som en dröm! 😍
