There are deep spiritual affinities between Ambition and Anthology of the Killer

All the protagonists in games I have on Steam who are cops or detectives, and whether or not they could beat Duke Crabtree in a fight.

This is Duke Crabtree, from ZapDramatic's Ambition series.

The Rules: Duke is armed with a tire iron, while the protagonists have whatever weapon they typically have in game. It's not a fight to the death, but has to end in some kind of defeat (no running away). The fight takes place in a generic street setting in the challenger's universe, and must stay outside. Characters cannot get other characters to assist them unless that is an ability they have in game.

Dale Vandermeer - Cube Escape

Despite being a detective in a vaguely American looking city, Dale never carries any kind of weaponry. He does own a gun in Cube Escape: Birthday but in that game he is nine years old and only holds it so he can give it to his grandfather, who uses it with glee. Dale has no way of calling his grandfather to come help, since mobile phones have not been invented yet. His grandfather is also dead, but that doesn't matter much in the Rusty Lake universe. So he probably wouldn't beat Duke; he'd stand a chance, but don't underestimate the effects of a tire iron to the head.

Paul Trilby - Follow the meaning

Paul is tapped in to the source code of the game and can mess with the fourth wall to alter perspective. Using this he could probably crush Duke by knocking over a lamppost on the other end of the road or something. He could also use these powers to sidestep fighting Duke (who I assume is blocking the path somehow) but that would count as running.

Ray McCoy - Blade Runner

Ray has a gun. And can easily get the top score in the police shooting range too, so he's good with it. He's not supposed to shoot people who aren't replicants but if it's a case of self-defence then what the hell. Besides, look at Duke. That man is not passing the Voight-Kampff.

Jack Orlando - Jack Orlando: A Cinematic Adventure

Jack also has a gun, but he would not be able to beat Duke. He does have the distinction of being the only character on this list who I think would start the fight with Duke. In fact, I know exactly how this fight would go; Jack Orlando would walk up to Duke, who is minding his own business for once, and would raise his fists to start squaring up to him. Duke would ask "What the bejimeny are you doing, old man?" and Jack Orlando would lower his fists, therefore admitting defeat.

Sam and Max - Sam and Max: Freelance Police

Sam and Max would wreck Duke. Sam and Max would wreck Duke without even being provoked. Duke would come in with his tire iron and get a hyperkinetic rabbity thing to the face. Lee Harvey might have been able to shrug that off, but Duke could never.

Gabriel Knight - Gabriel Knight series

Gabriel's only regular weapon against the forces of darkness is his Schattenjäger talisman, which is not going to be too effective against the distinctly non-magical Duke. Maybe it would throw off that green will-o-wisp that follows him around, but It would come down to just a straight up fight. Duke's tire iron would probably win it for him here too.

Having no friends who know about Retsupurae, I feel a bit lonely whenever I hear "Amazing Grace" in something and have to pretend I'm taking it seriously instead of hearing Ted Hartrup from Ambition in my head and giggling silently.
