while we’re on the subject of reasons we love our best boys, here are 7 reasons (in no particular order) why @zappsbrannigan is great

they’re super smart and good at explaining stuff! even if their day job as a teacher wasn’t their first choice, it’s perfect for them because they live to educate people and can back up their explanations - for example when I said something like “people everywhere are gonna give me shit for being fat ):” they said “no not EVERYWHERE; the drummer for Miranda! is fat and everyone in Latin America loves her” and looking at her in action it MUST be true

speaking of which, they have AMAZING taste in music and they’re super passionate about their fave artists, especially the aforementioned Miranda!!!! whose music I love even though I barely speak Spanish and I’m so grateful for them introducing me to them

they are STRONG (in the real way)! their life has thrown them a lot of hardships and they don’t show any signs of giving up!!!

excellent art style that blends the influence of Matt Groening and anime to create something entirely new it wasn’t quite me and it wasn’t quite you. those bright colours and varied line weights are Goals tbh

super empathetic and kind! did you know they’re taking commissions to help natural disaster relief in Mexico?! they love their country but not in a “god bless the stars and stripes and guns” way; when bad shit happens they actually DO something about it

incredibly patient - again they’re a teacher and in that job you NEED patience to deal with little kids, but that also extends to their friendships with adults (do you know how rare it is to find someone who can respect your need for space? well this guy is IT baby)

although I’d love them regardless of how they look, they’re UNBELIEVABLY HANDSOME!!! that nose... those eyebrows... those fuckin EYES..... boy I dieeeeeeee

those are the main reasons but just follow them and see for yourself why they rock, ok

Thanks! I only get it done about twice a year, and it’s always a happy occasion when I do. Not just for gender presentation reasons, either - my hair gets thick, and it’s nice when it no longer knots like hell and I no longer have to fish hairballs out of the tub drain

15. Which opening theme do you like more?

The first (Hanamaru Pippi wa Yoiko Dake); I’m totally stealing what I remember @ichiphile once had to say on the subject but: that song sets the tone for a wacky yet relatable acid trip of a show where anything can happen; the second opening is a very nice, catchy song in its own right but not quite as good a fit for the show

16. Which ending theme is your favorite?

coughs… as weak as I am for Choro babbling on while asking someone Totoko out, Iyami’s chorus is just. Too good

23. Did you cry at any time while watching the series?

Like just about everyone I cried at “Jyushimatsu Falls In Love;” the last scene, yes - but even more so at the flashback to how Jyushi and Home Run-chan met. I know very well how it feels to want to end your life but suddenly see something/someone who offers a faint hope of making it worth living; I’ve both been there myself and witnessed it in people I love… knowing that one “muscle, muscle” made the difference between life and death for this woman is just so heart-wrenching

…again, like most people, I also teared up on my first viewing of “Letter”, both because I was happy most of the bros (especially Choro) were taking steps towards independence as I’ve been trying to do in reality and because I was sad that it came at the cost of Oso being himself at all and Ichi having a home. ofc we all saw how that turned out; they HAD to kill me. I cry Pierrot a sweater of tears… and they kill me. how are they gonna live with themselves
