Honestly the best thing to come out of everyone screaming about how “ZaDr should absolutely never happen! Zim’s old! Dib’s 12! Etc etc etc.”, everyone collectively seems to just have jumped on board “oh? Well alrighty then, now he’s dating Dib’s dad!”

Alright I’m gonna throw a bunch of my headcannons out here.

After realizing what a powerful resource membrane technology is Zim quits skool and starts working at membrane labs, under a slightly different identity. I think he would still use the name Zim maybe add Sr. But his disguise is just glasses, a mustache and a gray/white streak on his wig.

Now Zim isn’t normally insecure about himself. He doesn’t need validation, not that he ever gets any. But after getting a complement from the smartest human on earth, a very TALL one at that! He wants as much validation from membrane as possible
