Working on the twins' family tree and did the noble ladies 💁🏻♀️

Zardra is the one to answer, because Thane is fast asleep next to the sleepy Elder, who has lifted his head and flicked his antennae up at the new arrival. "Yeah he came by a while ago. It was maybe... a week or two later? That Kyradon arrived with the twins. I was worried we'd had a Maneless stationed with us at first.... and I wasn't exactly pleased with having to deal with one. I was relieved when he was the inspector, not our newest Squad member." Zardra says She stretches with a yawn, before resting her head on her forepaws like a massive lion. "But I suppose he told the King about our only having six Warbred, and sent the twins and the elder with them. Kyradon is... anxious. He pretends not to be, but he's settled in here. We've come to enjoy his presence in the years he's been with us." Kyradon stretches as well, calmed by the bulk of the two younger Warbred beside him, before resting his own head on his forepaws to close his eyes. They're all tired. Thane is sore from his failed hunt, and Zardra's a little disheartened. Introducing, the elder, Kyradon! He's available for asks! He has some interesting secrets to his background. He's a bit anxious and jumpy, but he's doing quite well with Zardra's Squadron. They accept him despite his anxious nature. Having an elder around has a calming effect on younger Warbred. He's their squad's Emotional Support Geezer xD
Dreameaters actually do eat, though not as much as other Enterrans! What they do eat is usually small meals, maybe once a day, that are packed with nutrients. They seem to enjoy nutrient-dense meats, fruits, and will sometimes be observed clawing then licking at mineral deposits. While their main diet consists of nightmares and bad juju in general, the food they eat helps maintain their physical body. Meyrin seems to be eating just a little more than usual, though; but when food is good, who doesn’t overeat at least a bit?
Galaxy Guide 10: Zardra with her force pike
Thane: B-but... He wasn’t in heat! Little does Thane know, Dreameaters don’t have heats; in fact, they become fertile when around enough energy. And the town by the Outpost and the numerous refugees the Warbred have taken in over time settling there has provided plenty of energy for a Dreameater to become fertile. What caused it, you may ask? The removal of the collar. The enchantments on it prevented Meyrin from carrying... or siring, any eggs, but the Warbred removed it to get rid of the tracking spell. But the tracking spell wasn’t the only spell removing the collar inactivated! Thane was trying to be careful, honest! It’s always safe if the other Enterran isn’t in heat, after all!
After the excitement and shock wears off. comes the worry. Warbred soldiers are not supposed to interbreed with other bugfolk, after all. While fraternizing is frowned upon, it was never seen as a problem unless there were results. And generally, Warbred knew to be careful. If this nymph was found out, he knew he’d be in huge trouble, and the hybrid would likely be whisked away, sent off somewhere. Nobody knew what happened to hybrids that happened; only that the Warbred that sired them were generally punished. Or disappeared. Zardra, however, reassures him. They are in a small border outpost pretty much forgotten by the rest of the Kingdom; they only get inspected once a year! Hiding the nymph can’t be that hard! They could, even, have some of those living at the outpost watch the nymph during that time. Zardra has her Second in Command’s back, and doesn’t care that rules were broken. She sees no harm in it! Either way, Zardra is not going to turn him in. He is her partner, her friend, her second in command, and they have known eachother for many, many years. Another concern from Thane is that he’s never been a parent before, but none of the Warbred have. At least, not properly. Some had been paird with others, but never had anything to do with the resulting nymphs. It is their duty to the Kingdom, after all, to mate with who they were ordered to mate with; but since being sent to the outpost, neither of them had been called for such things. Not even Zardra, who descended from one of the most prized lineages the Shadowed King had. It’s new to all of them to have a nymph around, but at least they have some time to prepare.
Zardra: We may look ‘chubby’ as you call it, but in reality, we have a whole lotta muscle under our shells!
Zardra: Meyrin likes it here, and so does Malina. He adopted her officially, but she’s like a child to all of us. She favors him, of course, but she sees us all as family. In the time since the two came here, we did have one inspection. We were.. not quite sure what to do with Meyrin and Malina, but the inspector didn’t seem to mind their presence. Apparently, having normal bugs hanging around the outposts isn’t really that uncommon, so she just shrugged it off. In fact... she seemed to get along with him and they had a bit of fun together before she went back to the Capitol. She was probably too tired to care about reporting it, because nothing has happened since and the outpost is pretty much ignored.
The only time the Capitol cares is when the annual inspection comes, but ours is the last to be inspected, and half the time the inspector just walks past, makes sure everything looks ok, and leaves. I mean, the King has no way of knowing, right? The two of them live with us, now, each having one of the two spare rooms in our Barracks. Plenty of space, big beds. They’re a joy to have around! Finn loves giving her rides around the Compound. Khalon often follows. I love watching her interact with them. They have both been great morale for our lonely little outpost! ((Finn is the one letting her ride on him, Khalon is his partner, following along))
