POST-DISBANDMENT SPECULATIONS — IT’S #MILLIE SEASON, SEPTEMBER 2025
With 2025 slowly coming to an end and ZEROBASEONE getting closer to hitting the 2.5 year mark, the speculations about contract renewal and disbandment ramp up. Most fans are somewhat able to predict the future of the group and the individual members. Naturally, Millie's future is also part of the discussion.
HOW DID WE GET HERE ?
Millie has been signed to her first and current company, Woollim Entertainment, since 2021. At the end of 2022, she joined BOYS PLANET, ranked 6th in the final episode, and debuted as a member of ZEROBASEONE in 2023.
Millie has been generally liked since her first appearance on screen in BOYS PLANET. Fans adored her humor, ambition, authenticity, and relatability from the start. She wasn't the best performer during the show’s airing, but her determination and exceptionally quick progress gained her enough fanbase to secure a spot in TOP12 in the final rankings. After debut, her fanbase only grew. Despite lacking exposure to the general public, her personality, fashion, and performance skills made her one of the most likable members in ZB1.
THE MAIN ISSUE
She's good at her job and fits in the group like a glove, so what's the problem? Well, it’s simple.
Millie's company.
To say that Woollim Entertainment is struggling is a generous understatement - the company is basically on the verge of shutting down, and it's not like their management is great either. Their slow downfall has been happening for about a year and signs of improvement are nowhere to be seen. Millienauts are well-aware that if Millie stays in Woollim, her future lies in nugudom... but who'd want that for their idol?
A MISSING DETAIL
Millie's debut in ZB1 was more of a matter of fate and coincidence than a dream come true earned by ruthless hard work, although her fans would never admit that. You could say her journey from BOYS PLANET to debut was just a series of events unconsciously happening to her. Yes, she trained hard, yes, she trained to debut, but none of it had meaning; not to Millie, at least.
Being that funny, entertaining character that she is is a double-edged sword. There's not a video on the internet where Millie doesn't make the members or the fans laugh, and it's great — that's what makes people love her! It's that hearing a serious, genuine, heartfelt ment from Millie's lips is near damn impossible.
Fans like that quirk… kind of. Until the topic of the what-ifs and the future comes and they spiral into a pit of anxiousness at the flippant, or the lack of, responses from Millie.
ACCORDING TO THE FANS
It's always been hard to predict anything when it comes to Millie - her nickname "ZB1's wild card" exists for a reason. But there are some opinions that formed over the two years that reflect the fans' thoughts and worries:
❝I honestly have no idea what could happen to Millie if ZB1 disbands.❞
❝I think currently the biggest question mark is what Woollim is going to do with her. They're slowly dying as a company, disbanding groups one by one and their trainees have been leaving for the past year or so. They're definitely not in a position to launch a new group for Millie either, she's probably their biggest moneymaker rn but it's still not enough. (Even if they were, I wouldn't wish that on her lol their management is shit)❞

❝It would be best for her if ZB1 extended, but we know that's unlikely. There was a rumor going around that she has some decent connections in the industry. If it's true, maybe she could use that to join a different company if Woollim lets her go. I think she'd be better off in a group than as a soloist, although she's very much capable.❞

Obviously, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but I think it's safe to say some members have already decided. What makes me worry is that so far, we didn't get any statement or hint from Millie. To me it seems like she's actively avoiding saying anything that could be interpreted one way or another, which is pretty unusual for her, knowing she actually likes giving spoilers and going against WAKEONE. I wonder if she has already decided.❞

GIRL TALK is a five member fictional girl group under Delphi Entertainment consisting of Soojin, Minji, Holly, Mei, and Yuuri. Starting as a pre-debut project, GIRLISH, in early 2017, each member was introduced to the public through a solo promotional single and dance and song covers. GIRL TALK was set to debut on November 1, 2017 but their debut was delayed due to unknown reasons. They debuted on May 5th, 2018 with the digital single Summer Dream. even though he never had the idea of becoming an idol before bp, he was so excited for everything
from promoting on stage, going on different shows, filming their m/v; he just lit up at everything
really showed his acting abilities with their teasers and m/v
of course, his social battery always drained out quickly - the members always had to call him out of his daydreams
despite that, he was always open to filming collabs with other groups (he's filmed so many of them within a span of two weeks and was surprised at himself for even doing that much)

they all got teased by each other, but both jiwon and gyuvin were the main victims of the teasing

his favorite was going on 4cut live, even though he was targeted by matthew for not-so-accidently covering him up in front of the camera
surprisingly didn't get disqualified and won along with gunwook
he absolutely loves everything about their debut album (he bought two of them for himself and said that he got his own pc along with zhanghao's pc)

ever since hanbin's introduction on boys planet, jiwon has admired hanbin's talents and looks. throughout the show, he also admired how hanbin was always willing to help other contestants despite how they're all competing against each other to earn a spot in the top 10. jiwon is not used to opening up about his feelings, but thanks to hanbin and his reassurance, jiwon knows he can trust hanbin with anything that he needs help on, weather it's giving him advice or tips, or just comforting him on his though days.

the two most introverted members of jebewon. because of their similar personality, they get along very well and can relate to each other a lot. however, when they first met during boys planet, they were pretty awkward with each other at first, but when they were grouped up together during one of their missions, they managed to get along after a bit. even though they weren't close, jiwon knew he could come to hao when he needed help with something, and would always appreciate hao's honesty.

matthew's bright personality and smile is really contagious, because whenever matthew is with him, jiwon is always in a happy mood. matthew is the only one in the group to call him by a nickname 'jiji' because he claims that it sounds similar to jiwoong's name and doesn't want them to get confused when he calls them (which jiwon doesn't understand; his name and jiwoong's are completely different spelling and sounding and he can differentiate between their names when matthew calls either one of them, but he doesn’t seem to mind the nickname).

another part of the '02z, jiwon and taerae trained together, so they've known each other a lot longer than they know everyone else. they like to tease and bicker with each other, most fans call them an 'old married couple'. because they've known each other for a while, they often share the same thinking and relate to each other, and they could tell each other's mood by just looking at each other. jiwon knows that taerae has his back when he needs it and often goes to him with any problems he has.

Ahn Soojin was born on November 7, 1998 to a chef, Ahn Jungmo, and a nurse, Kim Soeun in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. She is the oldest of five daughters. In 2008, her mother and two youngest sisters were murdered by an unknown assailant that broke into their home in Gyeonggi-do while Soojin and her other two sisters helped her father close up at his restaurant. She then moved to Seoul with her remaining family; her father, and her sisters, Minkyung and Solbin.
Soojin was scouted five times by Delphi Entertainment online from her rising popularity as an ‘ulzzang’ but didn’t go to auditions until 2016 when they contacted her father. In 2016, she was a contestant on Unpretty Rapstar 3 and was a semifinalist.
In 2017, she was announced as a trainee in Delphi Entertainment’s pre-debut girl group project; GIRLISH, with nine other girls. She was well received by the public and was the second member to be revealed for GIRL TALK. She debuted in 2018 in the girl group GIRL TALK as their leader, main rapper, and visual.
