For a friend
Aki let out a soft sigh, her head resting on her arms. Hiding behind the stacks of books on her desk while Aurora ripped one of the policemen in the room a new on with her words, her friend’s violence wasn’t normally encouraged but well the man she was yelling at had almost gotten a group of children killed so Aki was willing to let her ‘guard dog’ do some biting. Aurora found the whole thing funny while Aki found it concerning even when her friend assured her that she didn’t mind ‘being her Queens guard dog if it meant people feared her and not you’ but Aurora was stubborn and had somehow managed to get Zefe onto her side so Aki had dropped the subject.
“Alright enough Aurora” Zefe said and Aki raised her head to peek at the scene in front of her, it would be humorous to others but not her. A 5’3 pink haired girl glaring up at a 6 foot man who looked about ready to plead for mercy, Aurora had obviously done her research “Mister Filson you are relieved of duty until further notice, Captain I trust you will do what needs to be done. No military grade weapons, no inclusion in cases Understood?”
“Yes Sir” Captain Neil said. She liked Captain Neil, he was only a few years older than her but was wiser than he seemed. He also knew when to be kind which was something she respected. She watched as the room emptied of blue and the only people left were herself, Aurora, Zefe and her friend Lucinda who was typing away on her laptop
“They following through?” Aurora asked and Lucinda made a noise
“Checking now. . .there’s goes his gun, badge and vest. I’d say they are yes” Lucinda answered “Oh Aki? There’s another picture for your friends at the Raven’s home. Want me to forward it to your phone?”
“Yes please” Aki answered sitting up and the books on her desk flew up and into their ordinary places with just a wave of her hands and she caught her phone from where Aurora had thrown it to her and looked at the photo she’d been sent, fighting back homesickness. It had been 5 years since she’d left and she still missed everyone “I don’t know why they keep doing this, surely they would have moved on”
“Aki. From what you’ve told us? All of them considered you family, I’m sure they all understood that you needed to come home after your parents left you as the heir before going into retirement but of course their going to miss you” Zefe said and seeing Aki’s shoulder slump, he walked around and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
“Exactly Aki, I’m sure this is just their way of saying that haven’t forgotten you and that’s a good thing okay? It honestly is” Aurora added coming around and leaning against the desk, holding Aki’s hand and Lucinda let out agreeing hum
“Do you want me to see if I can’t get in contact with one of them? This place is certainly big enough to house visitors if they want to stay for a couple of days” Lucinda suggested and Aki smiled, nodding
“Yes please Luc, thank you Rora, Zef. You always know what to say” Aki said and Aurora flashed her a sharp toothed grin
“Of course we do, we have thousands and thousands of years of experience under our belts. Me more so than him” Aurora said with a giggle and Zefe fake groaned
“Oh hush it you Grandma” he teased and Aurora pretended to look offended while Lucinda and Aki collapsed into laughter
“N-Not in the s-study you two!” Aki gasped out laughing more and she leaned back in her chair, cackling at how they went from two mature adults to sheepish looking kids at her words
“Sorry Mum” they chorused and darted out of the room when Aki jumped up
“Now you’ve done it!” Lucinda called putting her laptop down and grabbing the two water guns from their hiding place and she passed one to Aki before bowing playfully “I shall defend your honour my lady. INTO BATTLE!”
Lucinda raced out the door causing Aki to laugh before she ran after her, the halls were empty meaning the servants-or her other friends as she saw them. All of them had either seen her grow up or had grown up with her, they were pretty much family now-had cleared everyone out hearing the yells. There was loud laughter and squeals coming from the front garden so Aki raced out there and hit Aurora with a hit from the water gun.
By the time they were done, it was well past lunch time and they were all soaked to the bone.
“Best two outta three?” Aurora suggested playfully and squealed as she got hit with water from all three of them “COLD!”
“You deserved it” Lucinda said before flopping down onto the grass “Foood”
“Shift and go and charm Michaels, I’m sure he’ll cook you up some bacon” Aki suggested and Aurora grinned
“He just thinks you’re the cutest thing ever in shift form Lucinda, ain’t you special. Well I mean more special than you already are” She teased
“You are getting your room bobby trapped for that” Lucinda threatened before she shifted into her wolf form and shook most of the water off her fur. She looked like an ordinary Gray wolf until you got to the eyes where she had more human eyes then wolf, she happily walked off to the kitchen to get food while the rest of them just laid in the sun. More than happy to just dry off that way .
“Hey Aki? Do you want to spend the rest of the day taking photos that we can send to your Laputa family?” Aurora suggested sitting up and Aki looked at her two friends
“Do you think they’d like to see Italy? I mean it was so beautiful up there I doubt anything could really compare” Aki said and Zefe smiled
“Not once have they sent you anything to do with scenery Aki, they mostly send you photos of silly things or moments they thought needed to be captured forever. Like this one, us just relaxing after a water fight would be a perfect one to send them. We could send them one of us with Lucinda in her shifted form just playing or show them a picture of the library, there’s an infinite amount of things we could take pictures of” Zefe said and she sat up almost beaming
“Let’s do it!!” she said and she teleported her camera to her and the three of them took a selfie, all of them grinning and Aki sent it to Rei with the caption ‘you’ve been sending me so many photos, I figured it was time to send some back. Aki-Aurora-Zefe after a waterfight’
“They are going to love it” Aurora said squeezing her friend’s shoulder and Aki beamed at her
“I hope they do. I really hope they do”
