Chris From Zeloz

Remember Chris, the human who had been raised by the yokai in Zeloz? He came over to visit!

We stopped by the Able Sisters. Mabel was super happy to talk with him. Sable was more shy about saying hi. Merengue was super excited to meet him and chat with him. He seemed just as excited to talk with her back.

We went to the museum and looked around in the aquarium. Chris told me about how he’d been taught to swim and had been surprised when he’d learned that humans weren’t supposed to be able to breath underwater. He was surprised to learn that despite living with yokai myself I couldn’t do that either.

He was super impressed with the upstairs exhibits. He looked around at the collection of cultural items from humans around the world.

We both had a ton of fun just running around in the space room and goofing off pretending that we were off on a mission. It was almost like playing with Sterling.

Zeloz Tour

It seems my presence here is causing a bit of a rumble. When I talked to Sylvia about the petition she already knew about the new human who had found her way to Zeloz. She was really surprised to see me herself and perfectly happy to sign my petition. We didn’t talk long before Chris was dragging me back out, muttering something about having other things to do.

Chris introduced me to Cranston. Cranston was really surprised that Chris had found another human. He was even more surprised to learn that I came from a border town. He was very pleased and happy to make my acquaintance. Cranston was really cool and just as chatty and full of energy as Chris.

Cranston was super pleased to sign the petition with Chris. He was even more pleased to know that Chris had made sure that Cranston would be the one to finish the petition so it had all the signatures. There’s nothing as sweet as being the first or the last for starting something.

I could have left then, but Chris still had more to show me. It was nice to see another human too. I could fully understand his excitement.

Chris introduced me to Poppy. Apparently she had looked after Chris a lot when he was younger. She was happy to drag us both into watching a movie and staying inside for a bit. It was nice to take the chance to relax for a little bit.

I couldn’t stay in Zeloz forever of course. I had to get home and tell Rodeo I got the signatures. I did promise Chris I’d stay in touch and write letters.

Rodeo was really impressed with all the signatures I’d gotten. He gave me a huge hug thanking me for the help. I hope his petition is agreed on. I don’t understand why there needs to be a petition to let more animals into border places. Maybe I should ask Croque.

Zeloz

Traveling between places is a little odd. It feels like it takes the right amount of time to get to a place, but I’m really not sure just how long that was. I arrived in a place called Zeloz, and it was cold and rainy.

A hippo named Harry was happy to see a new face in the place and welcomed me. He had a friend with him, a human. Chris was super excited to see me, practically bouncing on his toes. He told me he’d grown up in Zeloz, and that he almost never saw anyone like himself.

Harry was happy enough to help me out with Rodeo’s petition, on the condition that I let Chris tag along so we could talk. Chris was super happy to show off Zeloz to me. He really loves his home.

He introduced me to Hamlet. Hamlet grinned at seeing Chris. He was pleased to see the town human so energetic and happy. He signed my petition cheerfully.

I had a very eerie encounter with a frog. His gaze seemed to go through me, saying we had seen each other before. But then he kind of backtracked, as if to cover things up. I’ve never met this frog before in my life. It certainly made me uncomfortable. I was really happy when Chris turned back up to introduce me to some of his other friends.

Chris was super happy to introduce me to Annalise. She’s a very sweet girl, and was very happy to welcome me to their town. She made us some cocoa and listened to Chris happily before we went back out on our way.

Return to Zeloz

Chris invited me to come and visit him in Zeloz! I’m so excited, I always have so much fun around him. He’s so very different, being a human raised by youkai. I still run into occasional things that he does that I don’t get.

It’s a very different sight when it’s not raining. The paths are beautiful, there’s exotic fruit trees, and the fountain is very peaceful and relaxing to stand by.

Chris dragged me over to see Annalise first. She was very surprised and pleased to see me again.

Annalise told me that she’s started going on trips recently and picking up various “souvenirs”. I don’t know what kind of souvenirs they are, but Annalise seems very proud of the variety she has and said that she’s gonna take Chris on a trip with her to pick something out together in the future.

I got to see Hamlet again too. He seemed a bit flustered that we caught him in his home and joked that the place was dull with nothing to see, and would be dull to snoop around in before shooing us back out. A bit odd, but he is such a cheerful and upbeat guy. He probably just didn’t want to be inside on such a beautiful day. We ended up running around together for quite some time outside.
