Close ups because I wanna talk about the art even though I still wanna tweak it even though I’m sick of not sharing it LOL. Anyway.

I swear Abel and Link are actually fairly similar in height (Abel is a bit taller and broader, but not by too much), but Link’s muscles have atrophied, he’s sickly and hurt and fresh out of a damaged Shrine of Resurrection and I can’t draw proportions correctly so whatever, he looks puny. The clothes are supposed to be oversized on him anyways, as they’re spares from what little Abel has. But anyway, Abel loves his little knight 🥺❤️

I JUST WANT TO SEE THEM HAPPY IN A TIMELINE WHERE THINGS WENT RIGHT DANG IT. LET GANON BE A GOOD DAD (I scream at myself like I’m not the one who made him a bad one LOL BUT TJEIWAOJFDKSALJFIOW)

…Alternatively, this could just be from Peggy’s and my back-and-forth about her hdw au and my imprisoning war au mix lol (Link, Volga, and Impa: what nefarious things can Ganon be doing right know!! Ganon: *snoring and cuddling with his kid who probably wouldn’t mind cuddling with him even if his memories weren’t scrambled but still—*)

Link loves his daughter Navi so much, guys, I don’t have too many thoughts on details except that he adores her and they go on adventures together. She’s got her mama’s strength and her daddy’s courage and grit and she and Link are inseparable. I tried to make her bow look like fairy wings because, you know, name and all. Anyway, I think they’re cute ❤️

The Many Languages of Love - Friendship (Ocarina of Time)

Summary: When Zelda arrives soaking wet to a ceremony, her husband Pippin tries to help, and the two get to know each other a little better.

Setting: Zelpip! :D About ten years after OoT, so Zelda is 20. The pair began their arranged marriage about a month ago.

It wasn't Zelda's lucky day.

She'd wanted to patrol the perimeter to the Gerudo Desert after the increased activity with Hyrulian soldiers. She'd been concerned that perhaps reports were inaccurate, or her general was downplaying the issue, as he often did to try and appease her. Although Zelda knew her top general was loyal to death, he often still viewed her as the little princess who wandered the halls of the castle.

She was not that little girl anymore. And even at that age, she'd been willing to step up and do her part, get her hands dirty. She'd wanted to. She didn't like lingering about the castle in her fancy dresses, ordering others about without ever doing anything herself.

But she hadn't expected the absolute downpour that had fallen from the sky on her way back to the castle.

Hardly anyone knew of her alter ego, Sheik. Impa knew because she had trained her. Link knew because Zelda had wanted him to accompany her on a mission, and she trusted him - he had helped Hyrule so much, after all, and he had finally started to not act strangely around her.

But that was about it.

So, naturally, for her to go on a mission as Sheik she had to sneak out. And the best time to do so was between different venues, namely between her council meeting last night and the party tonight.

She'd really hoped that the rain would stop long before she got back to Castle Town, but it only seemed to get heavier. It covered her footsteps well enough, but once she reached the castle, she started leaving a trail, dribbling water like some rebellious teenager who had snuck out after bedtime.

It was embarrassing, really. And there was no way she'd have enough time to dry off before the event.

Zelda at least made it to her quarters before she could be discovered, but it wasn't even ten minutes before there was a knock at her door. She jumped, hoping it was just Impa, but instead found her husband peeking in.

"Uh... Zelda?"

She tried not to be exasperated, truly. Pippin was fairly innocent, and seemed like a sincere man. But she did not need this on top of everything else she was dealing with tonight.

"I'll see you at the party, I just need a bit more time to prepare," she said, anxiously trying to towel dry her hair and only succeeding in making it frizzy.

Pippin furrowed his brow, nose scrunching a little as he stayed in the doorway. "Did you go out in the rain?"

"No," Zelda hastily answered, far too hastily, honestly. "I just got out of a nice long bath. Lost track of time."

Pippin watched her a moment longer and then his expression relaxed, and he sighed. "I got caught taking too long of a bath as well, I'm afraid. Though I got out a little faster than you."

What a strange thing to say. She didn't really care if he took a long bath or...

Oh. He was playing along.

"I get lost in stories in my mind, I suppose," Pippin admitted. "I just wanted to find somewhere quiet. But anyway, I won't waste your time. I can go handle matters at the banquet until you're ready to join."

Pippin paused as he turned to leave, and added, "My sister often had the same issue. She found that a braid tended to hide things better. I learned to braid hair because of that."

Well, Zelda certainly couldn't braid hair. She hardly could take care of her hair, letting transformation magic tuck it away and letting servants handle it the rest of the time.

She didn't want servants touching her. She didn't need rumors spreading about where she could've been out in the rain.

"Help me with my hair, then?" she asked, facing him more fully to seem a little more welcoming.

Pippin was silent a moment before slowly entering the room. Zelda sat on a chair at her desk, throwing her damp hair over her shoulder.

Pippin's hands were gentle as he started to detangle her hair, dividing it into three pieces. He paused in his work, and when she glanced up he was scrutinizing the locks, biting his lips.

"Is something wrong?" she questioned.

"I'm debating which braid will hide the frizz the best," he answered.

Zelda laughed. "How many braids do you know?"

"All of them," her husband replied, somewhat exasperated. "My sister insisted."

Zelda chuckled, looking at her reflection in the window. She wondered what it was like to have a sister, to not be the only child in a large, cold castle.

"So what were you getting caught up in while you were bathing?" she prompted, curious if he truly had meant something else.

Pippin was quiet before starting to braid her hair once more. "Well, I was attempting to find somewhere quiet where I felt less... seen. Perhaps the bath would have been a preferable spot, but then the servants come in, and--"

Her husband cut himself off, and when she glanced up his eyes were wide in realization that he'd slipped up.

"Apologies," he said quietly. "I suppose there's a reason I didn't speak much at political functions back home."

"It's okay," Zelda assured him just as softly. "I don't always enjoy being perceived either. Though I am very used to it, as I imagine you are as well. Do you... feel comfortable here?"

"Y-yes," Pippin answered carefully. "I just... there's... it's nothing, really. The servants are all very good and kind, and..."

Zelda pulled away from him entirely, turning in the chair and raising an eyebrow.

"It's Ember, isn't it?" she questioned flatly, a smile trying to pull at her lips.

"Heavens, yes," Pippin let out like the words were water pressed against a dam, finally being released. "She's so--"

"Overbearing?"

Pippin bit his lip again. "Well, I was going to say eager."

Zelda finally did laugh. "You hid in the rain to get away from the head maid?"

Pippin shifted, cheeks blushing, but her humor eased his anxieties. "...Yes."

"Oh, Pippin," she giggled. "I haven't done that since I was a child. But I do understand. What was she harassing you about?"

"Tonight, actually," Pippin sighed. "I'd already read up on the guests, I didn't need... well, never mind."

"It's all right," Zelda smirked and winked before turning back to face the window. "Here, finish up my hair and we'll face her wrath together. I'm sure she's going mad over our tardiness."

Pippin finally did chuckle at that. "Probably so. I can stall once I'm finished with your hair."

"I would... appreciate that," Zelda finally said, feeling some relief. It was... nice having a friend in the castle. "I won't be long."

Pippin finished her braid in silence before exiting. It was a small moment, but Zelda felt a little lighter for it. After feeling like a stranger was in her home the last month, she was finally feeling like Pippin was more than just a guest who served a purpose.

Maybe they could be friends.

Fluffvember Day 7 - Massage / “I didn’t know you could sing”

Zelda grimaced a little as she shifted in her seat, belly swollen, back sore. Her baby was a blessing, but by the goddesses she’d underestimated how much pregnancy would tear her body apart. It was frustrating not being able to do the things she usually could, and she was especially upset that her fighting training was on hold. She walked and exercised as much as she could, with Impa’s help and supervision, but in the meantime, she dedicated time and energy to letting her child grow.

Today just had been an unpleasant day. She’d been stuck in multiple meetings trying to resolve a crisis between the Gorons and the Hylians, a matter of territorial debate and an issue of a soldier impeding Gorons from obtaining their precious stones for their food. It had been stressful, but she’d mostly resolved the matter.

But now she couldn’t even get comfortable, feeling her child constantly moving and kicking, body aching.

A pair of hands settled on her shoulders, thumbs pushing into muscle and trying to ease the tension. Slowly, one hand slid down her back, kneading away at her pain. Zelda glanced up to see her husband, Pippin, glancing down at her with a shy smile. He paused, waiting for her to lean back against him in a quiet admission to continue, and then he resumed his tender care.

By heaven that felt nice.

“Our daughter won’t sit still,” she noted, eyes closed.

“My mother always says a song settles a baby, in or outside of the womb,” Pippin noted, warm hands steadily moving across her back before he walked around to face her directly, kneeling in front of her and resting a hand on her swollen belly. Zelda watched in surprise as her husband started to sing gently, voice quiet and breathy but serene.

“I didn’t know you could sing,” she commented, and a twinge of guilt stung in her heart. They’d been married for nearly a year now. She should probably know that. But honestly, there weren’t exactly many opportunities for her timid husband to sing anyway.

Pippin’s cheeks flushed pink, and he swallowed, uncertain what to say.

Zelda smiled at him. “Well, it worked. She settled. Thank you.”

Pippin took a steadying breath, nodding his head a little. “You’re welcome.”

There was an awkward pause, and Zelda found herself almost laughing at how much her husband would probably get a long with her friend, Link.

Then again, if they were both quiet, they’d probably never start a conversation with each other.

Pippin cleared his throat, rising and nodding again, a silent acknowledgement as he tried to turn to leave.

“Pippin?” Zelda called, making his halt. When he turned to look at her, she asked, “Can you give me another massage after my duties tomorrow?”

The king consort smiled, eyes bright, and he nodded. Zelda reflected the expression, feeling content as he departed.

She’d definitely chosen her husband well, and she was so very grateful for him.

The snowman glittered in the sunlight, so dazzling to the eyes Link had to squint at it.

“He’s so shiny!” Navi noted in cheer and awe, before adding, “I wanna see if he moves like hay!”

Link blinked, registering the words too late as his daughter used a pitchfork to skewer the unsuspecting frozen victim and fling it across the pasture.

Link glanced down the well, feeling himself shudder. Zelda, disguising herself as Sheik, looked at him before also eying the dark depths.

”Best not to drink the water,” she said quietly. “Impa always told me it wasn’t safe.”

Yes, I imagine skeleton was not a good flavor, he mused darkly, remembering his time down there. Not that Zelda would know that.

”Link?”

The pair turned to see the king walking towards them. Sheik jumped, startled, letting out a muttered yelp and a curse before dashing behind Link.

Link tried to hold back a laugh. He supposed the queen hadn’t quite told her husband everything about her life.

tell us more about navi ( links daughter not the fairy) dose she get along with Zelda’s kid what’s her favorite food is she more of a mama or daddy’s girl HOW OLD IS SHE

I’ll tell you what I can, I haven’t put much thought into Navi yet. :) But she’s definitely, 1000% a daddy’s girl. She’s strong like her mother, quiet like her father, likes to hum and sing, loves being alone in the forest with animals (she gives her parents heart attacks by wandering off, she loves adventures). She’s usually really quiet when she goes to Castle Town—far too overwhelmed by the people and the buildings—but I feel like she probably would get along with Zelda’s kids. (Zelda isn’t at all mind blown at the fact that she had to have eleven kids to finally get a girl and Link and Malon get one on the first go. Are they doing something different??)

I love you writing and I want to know what you see oot Zelda and her husband’s relationship being like and what is her relationship with link and Malon and t one point did she and link ever have any romantic feelings for one or the other

I’m very happy to hear that you love my writing! :D And what fun questions! :D

I feel like OoT Zelda is a force to be reckoned with, while kindhearted, so she’d never let herself be put in a position she doesn’t like - ergo, no arranged/political marriages that she doesn’t approve of first. She’d probably scope out the scene of eligible bachelors, hone in on one she likes and be like “yup that’s the one” and sweep him off his feet LOL. It could be a noble from Hyrule, or someone of importance from another country.

Seeing as there’s only like, three or four other countries that Nintendo has created, I feel like someone from Labrynna would be the most appropriate - its land is a republic by the Hero of Legend’s era, but that’s far in the future of the Fallen Timeline, and it was known to have a monarchy at some point, and it’s known for a control of time, which seems appropriate for her. So I’d say her husband is from there. I’d like to think they have a decent relationship; maybe her husband helps reel her in from being too brazen, and her kind heart soothes him as he might be used to being ignored, like maybe he’s the youngest royal child in the family and therefore kind of just tossed aside. Zelda very much tries to just do everything, from ruling to being a good mother to being a sage, and her husband (and friends) sometimes has to step in and tell her to chill out. (I’ve already written one arranged marriage that’s rocky as all get out, I might as well make this one kind of work haha)

As for her relationship with Link and Malon, boy do I have some thoughts! I feel like initially Zelda and Link were on friendly terms, but Link, having gone through OoT, did not know how to separate Child Zelda from Adult Zelda and it makes things complicated for him. He starts to avoid Zelda, on his search for Navi anyway, and when he’s a teenager he’s angsting hard and having all sorts of feelings. Zelda doesn’t understand what’s wrong, and while she never got to know Link too well, she recognizes he saved Hyrule and wants to be his friend, at least. Was there an attraction there at some point? Probably, but it was definitely skewed/one sided; Link’s more mature body with his insanely messed up development/mind made him attached to Adult Zelda, but he knows this isn’t the same person, and Zelda thinks he’s attractive and all but can’t get a read on him.

As Link struggles, he reconnects with Malon, and they become friends once more. He has difficulty differentiating her too, but it’s not quite as bad because he wasn’t as directly connected to Malon from the Adult Timeline. She serves as a safe place for him to process and hang out, even if he doesn’t stay for long periods of time. Their feelings for each other would be gradual, going from friends to an attraction (Malon always did love a knight, and while Link doesn’t wear the armor he does fit the bill), and by the time they’re in their twenties they start to court. By this point, Malon also helps Link reconcile his feelings with Zelda, and he reconnects with her too, eager to continue helping Hyrule and rekindle their friendship.

Eventually, I think that would make them all friends. Link, Malon, Zelda, and maybe even Zelda’s husband could all be on good terms.
