I am gradually getting acquainted with the history of Victoria and it is really amazing. Although I still have a lot to learn about her... I'm terribly interested (really, maybe you've already said this) what would Victoria's reaction be to the participants of the Distant Zenith? Yep, who's about what, and I'm about them :,)

Ohhhhhhh~ this is a great question, and not one I've really touched on yet in my writing!

Victoria's character arc revolves around themes of grief, loss, tragedy, and acceptance. During humanity's last moments against the Faro Plague, she had accepted she was going to die. She made her peace with that despite how terrified she was, and fully believed that Project: Zero Dawn was going to be humanity's last chance to win (which it was, just not in the way she thought) and she gave everything she had to fight against the inevitable.

After learning about Far Zenith, who they were and how they escaped, she can't help but despise them. They're her people in a sense, they remember the Old World but as far as Victoria's concerned they're nothing but a bunch cowards who took the easy way out.

As for her opinion on a certain Zenith with a love and fascination with New Earth's Machines, it would take Vicki some time to warm up to her if there was ever an interaction. She won't see Allora as an Old Worlder, she's a Zenith, and Vicki will do anything to protect the Tenakth. That doesn't mean she's not open to friendship, but there's a lot of work that's gonna have to be done. Though Allora would gain a steadfast and fierce friend in the Living Old One of the Tenakth.

22. Who cooks more/who is better at cooking?

Zenith definitely, he had a large family pre-war, lots of cousins, aunts, uncles. They used to have potlucks all the time and he learned a thing or two off his grandmama. And, I mean, MacCready… who grew up on cave mushrooms… yeah no, sorry hun.

23. Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?

MacCready–man was born for cheesy puns and pick up lines and they always get the desired affect out of Zenith anyway. He’d bed MacCready sooner from a good laugh than a seductive smile. Zenith tries but he’s bad at it, doesn’t make sense or they’re just plain horrible, he’s not very good at making jokes either, or on the spot witty remarks, though he does have his moments.

24. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?

Oh gosh o////o uhhhmmm…. probably more like both? They’re very give and take, and Zenith does enjoy getting MacCready riled up with whispered promises. MacCready equally enjoys getting back at him with even more scathing promises ;P

7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

For Zenith its how often he messes up in front of MacCready. He’s clumsy just in general, sure, but once he realizes he’s head over heels he’s gonna start tripping on air and running into walls–he nearly fell down a hill of scrap parts right into a den of supermutants before, saved by MacCready snatching him away from the edge which, of course, only made him more flustered and his aim absolute crap.

8. Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?

‘Z’ is his most popular one, a lot of people call him that naturally after getting to know him, but its always been most endearing coming from his partners. His wife coined it to something affectionate since his brother before had used it as a mockery.

‘Star boy’ is one given to him by Piper on top of Blue, since he stargazes as often as possible and has caused him on several occasions to trip on cracks in the asphalt or run into things when he’s not paying attention.

Space cadet thus also comes into play, given to him by Nick who could not once get him to pay attention for several nights due to clear skies and lots of stars.

9. Who worries the most?

MacCready, hands down, he worries so much over Zenith. He could barely fight when they first met and not to mention all his previously mentioned clumsiness. Its gotten the both of them into trouble and Z gets hurt by accident more than anything. Plus his history with his loved ones so of course MacCready is going to worry over Zenith.

19. Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?

I don’t think either of them really go out and say it. Its just kind of there and Z is openly affectionate with his merc bf so its not difficult to connect the dots. I can totally see Zenith excitedly telling Piper and Nick about it though, once they ask about it.

21. Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?

Zenith! I’ve actually already got a head canon about it xD Taking the castle back from the mirelurks was a horribly difficult and strenuous battle because, well, Zenith forgot to stock up on ammo, so he was running around with a security baton for well over half the fight trying to thwack all the little ones while Preston and his giant ass flamethrower went to town on the Queen. (MacCready and Z were both very impressed…. and frightened). And the moment the battle was over and Zenith heard that swell of music coming over the radio?? He grabs MacCready and drags him into a victory dance. Its all very adorable and pre-relationship so MacCready is of course blushing up a storm both from embarrassment and being so close to the man he’s gone and gotten a crush over.

5. Describetheir voice

Hmmm, well Zenith is easily exciteable, so you’ll hear his voice go up and down through all the ranges while he’s talking, especially about something he’s passionate about.  Its like his voice isn’t used to talking so he’ll crack and break all over the place, for the poetic descriptionn–chalk on chalkboard.

18. Did they findromance in the commonwealth? Who are they with?

MacCreadyyyy. He’s so smitten for this sarcastic nerd. They have so much in common just based on their history, two guys who lost their wives and are trying to save their sons. They also share a love of comic books and Zenith adores his sarcasm and just finds him all around endearing. They do disagree on somethings, namely caps.

19. What do theylove the most about their romantic partner(s)?

His nerdiness, his puns, his stupid jokes, underneath that tough merc veneer is a total nerd who makes history puns and hoards comics. He also loves how affectionate MacCready is, he may not be he biggest on PDA (whereas Z is huge on it and not beyond embarrassing MacCready) but in private he’s quite the cuddler.

24. What are their insecurities?

Zenith is so nervous about being less than what’s called of him. General of the Minutemen? Please, he’s just a man out of a frozen tomb, but he felt obligated to Preston to take the title whether or not he felt like he’d actually fit. He’s afraid of letting people down one way or another and that one of these days everyone he’s come to love will realizes he’s a useless parrot just mimicking what others do to try and get by and leave him.

25. Whatboosts their confidence?

Any kind of compliments will send his esteem sky rocketing. Whether its a compliment on a fence he made or MacCready saying he looks good in that bomber jacket of his. Doubt his insecurities he’s very easy to please, just give him a compliment every now and again and he’ll be just dandy xD

So I promised @whalebonerunes to write more headcanons for my sole survivor Zenith, I’m pretty bad at, you know, actually posting about my characters sooo, here goes.

- Zenith can whistle like no one’s business, carrying a tune easily, he’ll whistle to radio freedom for hours. - He dances to the radio too, does little shimmies when Travis puts up Uranium Fever, whether Z is laying on his stomach waiting for a perfect snipe or just walking along somewhere in the wasteland. He’ll shimmy while perusing stores which is always amusing to the merchants and has actually started dancing while Curie was stitching him up one time prompting her to thwack him to hold still. - The only time he’s ever not fidgeting is probably when he’s stargazing, he’s always been fascinated by stars, ever since he was little. - He’s clumsy as hell, and poor at forethought--one of his biggest scars, a gnarly one down the middle of his forehead was caused because he fell down a flight of stairs and knocked himself out at the bottom. He gets this during the game, wakes up under Curie tending to the wound. - He’s only sometimes sarcastic and always light hearted about it - Too kind and too patient and trusting for his own good - Successfully played as a double agent against the brotherhood AND the institute for the Railroad’s cause. - He’s not very brave or courageous, if something is too much he’ll turn around and leave, whether its fighting a hoard of super mutants or an argument with someone else. - He’s pretty greedy, gosh when he first went up to the stands in Diamond City and saw all these houses just ripe for the picking... well, he turned around and ran back to hangman’s alley to drop Preston off, snag MacCready and make a night of robbery. - Except the Hawthorne’s... they’re nice and have a house full of cats, they’re good. - He’s patient when its on his terms, he once staked out McDonough’s office for days, finding the perfect way to ransack his office undetected. - He’s a bit of a chameleon, reacting and tailoring himself to which companion he has with him at the time. At least at first, its how he reacts to strangers, changing himself to appeal to them best, as you get to know him it drops off. - He doesn’t want to burn bridges that might be useful later, so he’ll keep the peace until he’s absolutely sure he can’t get anything else out of it. I’m gonna stop now before I get ahead of myself xD
