Hollow Knight ocs and Tiso we are so back
Yes, I do think that Apollo and Zephyr threatened to beach each other off.
Worldbuilding Zephros
In this world, people acquire magic through bonding with familiars. These familiars can then share their magic with the human. However, most people in this society don't care about magic. Instead, they use these familiars as social tokens. Today, I'd like to share what I've written about the different types of familiars. Toads. Common. Undesirable.
Surprisingly, toads are one of the most common familiars. This is due to how easily they bond to a human. Generally, as soon as a toad comes into contact with a human, it will bond with them. Only in rare cases do toads not bond to the first human they meet.
Toads are calm, easygoing, and very stable. Their behavior never changes over the years and they tend not to stray far from their owners. They are obedient to a fault. You would think that all these traits are highly desirable but humans with a toad familiar are automatically demeaned as desperate, disposable, and stupid. Couple this societal influence with the ease at which toads bond and many humans will kill their toad familiar as soon as they bond with it.
Toad magic is actually highly useful to modern humans. It gives the human mental strength. Humans with toad familiars will quickly adapt to any scenario and can withstand high degrees of mental and emotional torture, like bullying. If toad familiars are given to humans with mental handicaps, these humans can overcome their disease with ease and become normal contributing members of society.
