Guys, I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm desperate and don't have a way out otherwise.

My name is Cat, I'm a broke, mentally & chronically ill, bisexual grad student who just makes rent on my assistantship salary. I am actively looking for a second job, but I just moved to this new city a month ago, so it's a work in progress.

my brand new laptop received unexpected water damage last night, and despite taking it apart, drying it accordingly, it utterly stopped working this morning. Without a laptop, I can't do any of my school work, or my job as a TA for online classes.

I cannot, on my salary, replace it while also paying for gas or food. A new laptop for cheap runs about $400-500, and if I could make half of that, I can manage.
