"please cheer up," jisung pouts, his hands coming up to pinch the apple of your cheeks. "he was just a douchebag either way!"

grumbling and slouching in your seat, you furiously wipe your eyes the moment you feel them start to moist. the rest of the cafeteria is bustling and full of life, a complete 180 to how you're feeling.

jaemin's pink backpack is placed down in front of you, said boy carrying his newly bought lunch and two servings of curly fries. your table slowly fills up; mark coming in along with his algebra homework, renjun with his art project, haechan with a bunch of candy in his hands, jeno and chenle with basketball gear in theirs.

"so what's the newest gossip?" the popping noise haechan's bubblegum makes is annoying, with mark being the first to say so. "and why do you look like death?"

"her date didn't show up yesterday, bailed last minute." chenle hums, still preoccupied with the ball in his hands. "called in sick. ha! like i did last period math."

burying your face into the palm of your hands, you're shaking your head, trying to silence the oncoming headache and tears. sure the guy wasn't anything special, heck you didn't even like him! you feel like a loser for crying over something so small but you spent so much time on picking your outfit, doing your makeup...

jisung frowns the moment your head hits the table, his hands coming to snake around your shoulders.

"just forget him anyway, he doesn't know what he's missing on!" jisung doesn't notice his friends going silent, all with proud smiles on their faces nor does he notice your shy eyes on him. "if i was your boyfriend, i'd pepper you with kisses and take you on the best dates! i wouldn't ever forget about them!"

he's quiet the moment the speech leaves his lips, cheeks blazing a bright red as reality crashes over him. jisung has no time to react, his cheeks going impossibly red when your reach over to leave a kiss on them.

[7:18pm] jeno x reader, fluff, 0.7k

you shifted uneasily on the busy subway, feeling a presence behind you that was uncomfortably close. you tried to move away to an emptier space, but the subway was so packed that you could barely move.

when the subway stopped at a station and people got off, you finally felt like you could breathe. seeing some empty seats, you hurriedly walked towards one and sat on it, apologizing to the guy next to you when you accidentally bumped your leg against his.

despite that, your fear hadn't disappeared, especially when the same person from earlier took a seat right across from you, and was staring at you intently. you gulped, clumsily taking out your phone to distract yourself.

next to you, the raven-haired boy silently watched the creepy man and you. frowning, he pulled down his mask and twisted his head to look at you. "hey! aren't you jieun?" he said loudly and smiled, eyes turning into crescents.

you looked up from your phone in shock, furrowing your eyebrows at him. your name wasn't jieun and you didn't know this guy, so why was he acting like he knew you?

his wide smile slowly transformed into a pout. "yah, don't tell me you forgot who i am? it's me, jeno!" he exclaimed, staring at you with a friendly gaze as he hoped you got the signal.

it was silent for around three seconds before you took the hint. you gasped in shock, hitting his arm playfully. "jeno?! it's been so long! how have you been?" you smiled.

he relaxed unnoticeably, thankful that you caught on. "i've been well, as always!" he laughed. "hey, we're having a reunion next month, do you think you can come?" he fished out his phone from his pocket. "i don't know if you're in the group chat, but this is the plan so far," he said and showed you his phone.

instead of a messaging app like he had insinuated, he was on the 'notes' app and his screen showed the words: 'are you okay?'.

"oh my, i'm not in the group! i should scold them for forgetting to add me," you said as you took his phone and typed in 'no, not really. the guy across from me has been following me since i got off work'.

he took back his phone and swiftly read the text, nodding to himself. "what station are you getting off?" he asked, facing you.

"oh, just the next station,"

"really? me too! we can walk together!" he smiled cutely, and though you were in an unfavorable situation, you couldn't help your heart from skipping a beat at it.

the two of you continued conversing about random stuff until the subway stopped at your station. you stood up at the same time, stepping out of the suffocating subway. you continued walking until you were at the exit of the station and sighed heavily.

turning to him, you bowed slightly and kept a small smile on your face. "thank you so much for helping me back there, jeno. i don't know what i would've done if it wasn't for you."

he shook his head, waving you off with a smile. "it's not a big deal. there are a lot of creeps like him these days, so be careful!"

"yes, yes," you chuckled, nodding. "oh, i'm sorry. i hope i didn't make you late to wherever you were going,"

"no, of course not. i was just going home," he said and smiled.

there was a brief moment of silence between you before you spoke up hesitantly, looking up at him. "um, then, would you like to join me for dinner?"

he was slightly taken aback, eyes widened, but recovered quickly. smiling and showing off his pretty eye smile, he nodded. "sure..." he trailed off, looking at you expectantly.

"y/n."

"pretty name," he complimented, making your cheeks heat up slightly. "let's go eat dinner then, y/n."

glaring at the mop of blue hair that's silently making himself comfy on the sofa next to you, you're slapping the top of his arm the moment he flops down. "please, please, please don't say that before we're going to watch a horror movie."

"but its true," jaemin shrugs, "i don't lie about these things."

every single nerve you have is on full alert, tingling and screaming at you everytime a horribly timed jump scare appears on screen. your eyes are fixated on the movie only, while jaemin's is on you. he's glancing ever so often at the horrible movie, sure, squeezing your hand everytime you yelp or scream, but he can't seem to take his eyes off of you.

"na jaemin i will kill you!" jumping into jaemin's arms the moment a ghost pops up on screen. you don't see the blinding smile on his face as burrow yourself in his chest, hands wrapped around his neck as he props you up into his lap. "i hate you. please tell me when it's over."

"you can't hate the person that gives you cuddles 24/7." the circles his fingers move on you is soothing, bringing you into an almost state of peace as you will yourself to give him a glare. "ooh~ i'm scared."

"yeah, you're right." you mumble into his chest, slowly losing sense and drifting off into sleep with jaemin's arms around you. "i think i love you."

stammering a response, jaemin's peeping down to see your head buried in his chest. his heart's in a state of frantic, thumping as he replays your words in his mind. "w-well i guess i'll have to ask you out on a date soon."

[2:01am] roommate!mark x reader, fluff, 0.4k

it's around two in the morning when you walk out of your room, clad in oversized pajamas and fluffy slippers with your pillow in between your arms. using your phone's flashlight as the source of light, you stride to mark's room, knocking on the door gently. "mark?" you call out.

the said boy stirs at the sound, but doesn't reply. your heartbeat increases as you look around the darkness surrounding you. with a small tremble in your voice, you squeak out a "mark!" and knock harder.

at this, he groans softly and sighs. putting an arm over his eyes, he groggily lets out a "what?", the tone sounding harsher than he intended it to be.

opening the door slightly, you lean forward and poke your head into his room, seeing his still figure. "listen, i know this is very weird but... can i sleep with you tonight? we're having a blackout right now and my room is so dark and i'm kind of, maybe, afraid of the dark."

mark immediately sits up with a frown, about to reject you but when he looks over to your small, frightened body behind the door, he doesn't dare to let out those words. instead, with a ruffle of his hair, he nods reluctantly and he swears he's never seen you brighten up so quickly.

you hurriedly step inside his room, shutting the door behind you. walking over to the empty side of his bed, you place your pillow on it and climb in without hesitation.

mark has his back facing you, and you stare silently as it heaves up and down when he breathes. it's still very dark, but with mark's presence, you were able to sleep peacefully.

on the other hand, he is definitely not. he shuts his eyes, tries to fall asleep, but he can't get the thought that you're in his room, sleeping next to him out of his mind. he thinks it's weird how his heart is beating unbelievably fast, how he can feel the tips of his ears burning, how he's so bothered by your soft breaths against him. he thinks it's all so weird, but eventually falls asleep in the midst of pondering useless thoughts.

the next morning, mark sees you in his arms, head on his chest. he almost lets out a yelp but fortunately doesn't, calming himself down by breathing slowly. with a small smile on his face, he wraps his arms that were around you a little tighter and tries his best to not move until you wake up.

jisung growls lowly as he stares ahead of him, fists clenched tightly. the irises of his eyes start to faint a dark red, threatening to fully turn into the crimson color. the horns on his head poke out from under his hair, urging to be released. alarmed, you quickly rushed and sat down next to him, resting your hand over one of his fists. looking in front, you frowned before reaching forward and turning the television off.
