Absolute Boyfriend - Zettai Kareshi 絶対彼氏
Since I haven´t been posting anything for a few days, because I was busy I have now decided to post reviews of the two recent dramas, that I have been finishing. That will be done in two different posts and I will start of with Zettai Kareshi/Absolute Boyfriend. Genres: Romance, Comedy and Sci-Fi For those who are into romance, or are just getting into J-dramas, I think this is a very good beginner show. I will explain why, in the “Fans Review”. Plot: The story follows Riko Izawa (Saki Aibu) who is an office lady working at a pastry company. Riko ends up with the robot “Night Tenjo” (Mokomichi Hayami) who is the perfect male humanoid created by Robot Maker, Kronos Heaven, who programmed him to be devoted and completely loyal to his lover. They then choose to give Nigh Tenjo to Riko, who only sees him as a household appliance, but later finds herself catching feelings for Night Tenjo due to his devotion to herself. At the same time, Riko´s boss Soshi Asamoto (Hiro Mizushima) developes feelings for her and Riko starts developing feelings for him. She then finds herself stucked choosing between her boss and her robot. Fan´s Review: As mentioned before, the drama is quite good and I highly recommend this to new J-drama fans. The plot is easy to understand, there are only 1 season with 11 episodes and it also has a special movie - this is very typical for Japanese dramas and one of the reasons, why I enjoy them. At first I used to find both Riko and Night Tenjo to be extremely annoying and of course Night Tenjo being a robot, I shipped Riko with Soshi. However after a while, I could understand why Riko started developing feelings for Night Tenjo and I both found him to be humorous and absurdly shed tears for him. Zettai Kareshi or Absolute Boyfriend also made me odly interested in patisserie. Zettai Kareshi has also been made into a Korean adaptation named “My Absolute Boyfriend” or “Jeoldae Geui” in 2019 and also a Taiwanese adaptation “Absolute Darling” from 2010. If you are into manga and have ever enjoyed “Chobits” by CLAMP, then I will also recommend this for you. I will rate this drama 8/10
