And based on the root word, I would assume it could theoretically still qualify as a selfie if it has some part of your body in it? idk.

You can absolutely fail a selfie one time i tried to selfie and missed my face and that was absolutely a fail

I have done that before, but generally when it’s bright out and I can’t see my screen, or when I drop my phone/tablet/what have you in the middle of taking it.
