Theory time!! :

I have a theory that every chinese lagend that has a King/emperor and nine headed monster of some sort are in incarntions of Wukong and the nine headed demon!

Examples :

Zhurong 'God of fire' & the nine headed pheonix, (friends/alliance)

King Zhou of Shang & The nine headed pheasent (the Nine headed pheasent is disguised as a beautiful maiden to trick and over throw the king by Nuwa's orders)

Emperor Yu the Great & Xiangliu the nine headed snake (great enemies)

Side note: the nine headed demon in lmk also appears in journey to the west but Idk why Wukong doesn't remember Him (yet), the nine headed demon also didn't die on screen when Wukong defeats him in the Jttw novel which I thought was something worth mentioning

I hope the show explains this if there was a next season...
