Baiji, gasping: NO!

Han Shuo: It's unbelievable.

Baiji: Okay, okay, we wanna hear everything. Meng Guo, get the wine. Han Shuo, does this end well or do we need tissues?

Han Shuo: Oh it ended VERY well.

Meng Guo, running in with wine: Do not start without me! Do not start without me!

Baiji: Alright, let's hear about the kiss. Was it like a soft brush against your lips, or was it like, a you know, 'I gotta have you now' kinda thing?

Han Shuo: Well, at first it was really intense, you know, and then...oh god, and then we just sorta sunk into it...

Baiji and Meng Guo, squealing: Aww!

Qianqian: And uh, and then I kissed him.

Zi Rui: Tongue?

Qianqian: Yeah.

Zi Rui: Cool.

Actually losing my mind at episode 7 of The Romance of Tiger and Rose, I haven't laughed like that in a long time!

Han Shuo going from jealous and angry to besotted and so completely smitten, Bai Ji coming up with the real questions ("What is wrong with them? They even considered asking Lin Qi for help before you" - excuse me while I choke to death wheezing), Zi Rui and Qianqian being all at once disaster comedic duo and badass super team...

The entire Shakespearian comedy of situation with everyone arriving one after the other at the fortune lode, I was dying for all of it! And just before, Han Shuo and Qianqian arguing over who gets to get blown up and who cares the most about the other before fiiiiinally coming up with the idea of going together, I'm !!!! Losing! My! Mind.

I ADORE all the faces they make in the background, Zi Rui and Bai Ji get the gold medal for most hilarious/sassy/dumb faces, but Han Shuo comes close second with the most expressive eyebrows ever.

I am having so much fun, thank you everyone who recommended it when I asked for recs earlier.

I keep thinking about the continuation of The Romance of Tiger and Rose and what happens in the modern world. Like, slowly the characters start making an appearance in their lives.

HS/HMX and CQQ/CXQ obviously have a relationship. During the 3 months of recover CQQ helps HS adjust to modern life (he seems to like...know how things work? but also recognizes like it’s way different from his life? So I feel like while he knows of modern life he may not totally understand it?)

But anyway, so they start filming and HS’s manager starts talking to him about other projects to pursue after the filing, setting up interviews, and reminding him to post to his social media, etc. So HS decides he needs a personal assistant and starts looking and, Bai Ji turns up, and at first they like go back and forth trying to figure out and suspiciously eyeing one another. But then Bai Ji totally messes up a social media post or something and HS is like, yep. this is him. this is my idiot. And he instantly starts threatening him and pulling his ear and Bai Ji is like, it’s him! It’s him! I’m going to make it up to you I promise I promise! 

So then CXQ goes to filming days sometimes to provide insight in the script, sometime just to watch HS. And wow. She forgot how handsome he was with the long hair (Which he’s like... why do people wear these wigs? They hurt. They could just grow their hair out and have someone do it. He did it for years before he was transported to the modern word). It’s not a make or break kind of deal for her, but seeing him in costume with how she originally fell in love with him. It’s a lot. And she just kind of sits there with heart eyes a lot of the time. Which the staff and crew find hilarious. But anyway, they start doing some promo and stuff for the script and they can tell this movie is going to be a success. So they start calling her in for meetings and stuff and talking about potentially having a followup. CXQ is in the elevator one day and hears someone complaining about an up and rising screen writer, and CXQ is like, oh this is interesting! Who is this? And then they say something about how until this person came along, their screen play was supposed to be the movie of the year and how dare this new person come in and steal it from them. The CXQ watches in horror as CCC walks off the elevator.

Also, as CXQ becomes more known HS insists she needs someone to help so she can keep her appointments, meetings, etc. straight and also find time to keep writing. She says she doesn’t but he insists so they look for a personal assistant for her and in comes Zi Rui. They just stand, stare at each other, and then point and laugh and start talking at the same time but they immediately know its each other’. And then CQQ gets this idea to prank Bai Ji and HS, so Zi Rui and CXQ pretend they do not know each other around Bai Ji and HS and have a total field day. HS finally catches them giggling with each other and gives them a look and then gets kind of huffy. Which just makes CXQ and Zi Rui cackle even more. And I just... this modern continuation man.... it’s got me thinking
