That's actually the reason I love Walking Dead. Sure, there's a lot of gore and zombies, but the story line is amazing. The main character wakes up in a hospital and finds the world completely changed. He meets people along the way, but it really focuses on the emotional turmoil and issues people would have in a fallen world. And I can really see that raw turmoil in your story. I also think your idea how the infected are like red coat/A is really creative and how the evolutions are parallel.
Yeah, I really liked TWD from what I saw in the first two episodes. My dad complained that it was a bit slow, but I really loved the character focus. And like, that guy who was trying build himself up to shoot his dead wife? Yeah, that really got to me. Like I’ve said before, it’s a shame it’s so gory because I know I’d love the character storylines.
And thank you :)
Even the "quiet" chapters are important and amazing. The character development is so crucial when in a situation like this. The small flashbacks from paige (from the alcohol bottles to seeing the man in the store) shows a lot about how much she's been through. Then Emily when she shes the first person killed by the infected. Its such a wake up call for her. And her character is drastically evolving. You're doing an amazing job capturing those changes.
Yes, you’re right. I think/know zombie stories are very character-driven, but I just sometimes have it in my head that people are expecting all action, all the time. I don’t know why lol.
I wanted Emily’s development in this story to sort of parallel with her development on the show, in the sense that she started quite naive and scared, always wanting to think the best of people etc. to where she is now in S4; jaded, pro-active in defending the people she loves, not hesitating to whack Red Coat with a hoe etc. lol so I guess the Infected and the current situation in this fic are the equivalent of A/Red Coat in the way they change Emily as a character.
And Paige just has such a tragic past in canon that I obviously expanded on that a bit/a lot.
That got a bit rambly, sorry. But I’m glad you think I’m capturing those changes well. That means a lot.
Okay, Chapter 3. So first off, it updated right when Walking Dead came on last night. So I was so excited to watch then read....well the episode was really intense and I then read the chapter before bed....You weren't lying when you said there would be more action. Your writing style had me so hooked last night I honestly felt like I was right there with Emily, Paige, and Jack trailing behind. AMAZING chapter again and an emotional ending as well. This story has me completely captured.
Thank you! Your comments always make me smile. The lack of reviews was getting me down but messages like this make me want to keep going, so I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me what you thought :)
And yes, some chapters might be quieter than others, but there’s definitely plenty of action to come!
Brunette Niall or Lilac Niall?
ughh. def. brunette niall!
make me choose between...
