10. What’s your character’s pirate name?

Jayana would definitely pick something ridiculous and overdone, like “Red Angel of the Sea” or “Fist of Hell”

Martha probably would just use her last name, Stormshield.

Well the joke’s on you, anon, I can’t draw either way, so here is Dag in his current identity. He’s growing his hair out and he’s definitely not naturally blonde.

3. Who plays your character in the movie about them?

Sevik - I definitely would want Dwayne Johnson for this, but I’d also be okay with Vin Diesel. Either of those dudes are physically correct and I’d love to see them in Sev’s timid, intellectual personality.

Zief - Zief would be CGI. But I’d want Alan Tudyk as his voice.

Sulah - I feel like maybe I’m biased because I just love Daisy Ridley, but she’d certainly keep up the training regimen necessary to play my tiny buff cleric.

Zief for 8 & 2

8. Your character has to work together with 3 clones to kill a Demon Lord. This Demon Lord is not currently rampaging, and is in control of a city. How  does it go?

Actually, this is like Zief’s specialty, especially working with clones of himself. He’s quite goofy, and doesn’t always work well with others, but with three clones of himself, that’s four arm cannons and eight laser pistols and a whole lotta stealth. 

Course, there’d have to be money involved, or at least some reward. He doesn’t work for free.

Spacecrash ends

My tree-man monk reached the end of his weird journey!

When last we left the party, they were en route to Terra in a Veerux vessel in the hopes that they could create a sage and clear Rose’s name. After fighting their way through the space battle happening just outside the planet’s gravity, with some spectacular bluffing by Luther and Mark, they landed planetside.

We loaded AL the AI into the land rover and headed straight for the spot that Rose said would be best for sage creation. We blasted through the doors of an underground complex. Luther activated a mechanism that dropped the floor out from beneath us and there was some struggle between Rose and Zief as to who would be sacrificing themself in the fall in order for the other to survive (stupid, really). In the end, Rose polymorphed Zief into a giant spider and rode him down.

We met a tiefling sage named Kern who was trapped in a mirror. He explained a bit to us about sages and Terra in general, and told us he’d been trapped in the mirror when a sage he thought was dead stole his body. He claimed to have trapped her in a statue. We took a piece of his mirror in case we decided to make him the new sage.

We had to go through the trials, for this place had once been a meeting hall for the sages and also a place for heroes to test their mettle before throwing themselves into the core.

We fought some creatures, avoided some falls, and met up with an Ifrit woman who also claimed to be a sage. She said she was trying to figure out how to bring someone she loved back.

The party bickered a bit about whether or not to help her - after all, if we used this loved one of hers, we wouldn’t have to sacrifice any of ourselves.

In the end, it was AL who was dropped into the core. We ran out of that place as the core turned red and shot light into the sky.

As we got off planet, both Veerux and Coalition ships tried to arrest us, but they were interrupted by the arrival of a giant space ship with Zief’s face painted on the side.

It was AL.

In a beautiful robot body that looked...not unlike Zief.

The sage of space had arrived.

epilogue: we all ended up as crew on the ship, Terrans included. AL’s protection pretty much allowed us all the freedom we could want.

Space Bar Brawl and Revelations

Everyone’s favorite tree man monk has had some more fun adventures! Having absconded from Terra, Zief, Thaxa (our thrikeen ‘friend’), Rose, and the Terrans (Anka, Mark, and Luther) all headed for a space station to find Rose’s uncle, in the hope that he might have some clues about what exactly Rose’s mom planted in her body that the government and the evil human empire are after.

After getting to the space station, we saw a guy getting mugged in an alley. The Terrans just HAD to intervene, so Zief put an end to things real quick by blowing a hole in the guy’s chest and taking his credstick (money). So what if he was a member of one of the gang families...oops.

We headed for the casino after splitting up - Anka with one unlucky gambler, Luther and Rose with another, and Thaxa and Zief trying to be lowkey at the bar. Zief dropped his and the gangster’s credsticks discreetly into some poor sap’s pocket.

Turns out Rose’s uncle is a gambler, and a poor one at that. That’s right, he was the unlucky gambler Anka met.

What ensued was an all out bar brawl between three gang families and the party. There were some tentacles involved, some fire involved, and Ballroom Blitz played in the background. We stole a big ooze-man’s limo to get away.

Then it was off to Zief and Thaxa’s home planet, Fhloston-11.

The planet Zief hadn’t returned to since abandoning his post 30 years ago.

The planet that had been half burned to the ground by the Veerux when Zief was supposed to be on duty.

That planet.

Luckily, (or unluckily?) both the Veerux and the Coalition (government after Rose) were duking it out in the space around the planet. We crash landed and it was already pretty bad - Veerux obviously had come planetside.

We made it to Rose’s mother’s research lab and found two things:

1. a portal into the fey realms courtesy of a giant shark who was very nice.

2. a supercomputer that could either erase the data from Rose’s brain or bring it to the forefront.

Rose chose to bring it to the forefront, and hoo boy did she learn some big stuff. How to make a sage, for instance. And also we learned that since her mother had unraveled a sage and the universe works on a basis of energy exchange, we needed to create one - and that one wouldn’t be tethered to a planet like all other sages.

Of course the best planet to do that on is Terra.

Creating a person with feelings who is directly tapped into the magic stream and therefore has phenomenal cosmic powers?

Piece of cake.

Wild Tansy for Zief, Circaea for Miyuki, Solidago for Sulah!

Wild Tansy What’s something your character fights against?

Zief is a thief for hire, so he mostly only looks out for himself and his ship. But he does have a strong sense of honor, and he never forgets a friend, so if they’re up against something and they call in a favor, he’s with them come hell or high water.

Right now he’s fighting the space government and the horrible human empire.

Circaea What intrigues and enthralls your character?

Miyuki is consistently fascinated by weapons and fighting styles, but that’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? A better answer would be that certain people fascinate her - people like Dorian, who somehow manage to be carefree even in all that has happened; and people like CaoCao who are secure in their position and expect many things of others.

Right now, since she’s stranded on Leth, she’s quite interested in the sage Oba.

Solidago What is your character’s greatest triumph so far?

Sulah recently joined a secret group called the Vigil, and I’d say that’s up there on the list of triumphs. She really feels like she can be an agent for change now. Also on the list, closing the rift to Void in the Shadow Plane.

Buttercup for both Miyuki and Zief!

Buttercup Tell me about your character’s childhood.

Miyuki grew up with her parents, both ex-eldritch knights, and her older brother, in a secluded home in a forested country. She spent a lot of time learning weapons training from both her parents, and more than anything, she loved to spend time with her dad cooking. She spent time outdoors with her brother and generally wanted for nothing. She was roughly 10 when an evil Empress ripped all the leylines out of the earth and took over. Her parents perished while trying to spirit her and several other kids away. She trained even more strenuously than before, and she no longer laughed or made time to relax.

Zief grew up on a forested planet, and as a Verdus (tree person), the community raised him, along with all the other saplings. His entire upbringing focused a lot on the community and every person had their place and duty. His was to be a watcher in a control tower for incoming spacecraft.

Zief Update

When last we saw our giant leafy asshole monk from space, he had been threatened by a thrikeen space bounty hunter named Thaxa (who might also be his best friend besides AL). The party had encountered some robo murder children that the bard’s mother helped create.

So! After maybe convincing Thaxa that Rose, the bard, was dead, we kept on with the army, who thought we were just from a hi tech country and could therefore help against their enemy. The non-spacer members of the party, Luther, Mark, and Anka, all intelligence agents, now knew that Rose and Zief were from space.

On the battlefield, Zief and Rose did their best to counsel the soldiers on how to counter the tech the enemy had (which was taken from another crashed ship). Zief even went so far as to rebuild his robot arm into a rudimentary EMP gun.

Unfortunately, that was when Thaxa called. She offered the soldiers a deal: she would destroy the enemy laser cannon if they handed over Rose and Zief.

While the party went about their business trying to stop this from happening, Zief was teleported onto Thaxa’s ship - into her brig, to be exact, as he had declined her offer of taking him away from the planet with her and giving him one day’s head start on a civilized planet.

Thaxa did keep good with her promise to blow up the cannon. Then the Veerux (evil human empire who eat non-humanoids) showed up, claiming to be gods and generally chaos ensued. Zief and Thaxa called a temporary truce, and in the end, the whole party ended up on Thaxa’s ship, flying away from Terra with the Veerux on our trail.

We are currently headed to Zief and Thaxa’s homeworld. Zief hasn’t been there for nearly forty years. Hoorayyyyyyy.
