Before and after the restoration of the ziggurat of the Sumerian city of Ur, Iraq (21st century BC). They were constructions with a square or rectangular base, built in the form of a high terrace, stepped on several levels (3, 4 or 7), in the last of which was a temple.
A Ziggurat is a massive stone structure built in ancient Mesopotamia...but why and how were they built?
