He waves off the comment with a small smile playing at his mouth, “It’s fine, I’m usually not here around this time anyways.” His arrival had probably woken the hybrid, but there was no evidence of that unless he asked Tao himself. “I hope I didn’t wake you,” He turned toward Tao, lips still curled into a smile even though the hybrid called him a scaredy cat.
“I’m actually starving,” he spoke, patting his tummy when it grumbles a soft melody. As Kris ventures off, Zim decides to take a seat on the couch near Tao, but far enough for them to have a comfortable amount of space between each other. Silence settles over them and Zim finds himself fidgeting in his spot due to the awkwardness that stilles the air around them.
It was Zim’s uneasiness that created the dense environment, but could you really blame him? He had expected to see Kris when he came by, but instead he was graced with Tao’s presence instead. Nothing against the hybrid; its just- Zim can be socially awkward at times, especially around someone he doesn’t know. Kris finally arrives and settles himself between two. Zim adverts his gaze when the hybrid leans in to nuzzle against Kris’ chest.
“Um-” he clears his throat before continuing. “I was partnered with some imbecile today in my Biology class today, so I ended up doing all the work myself.” The work was easy, but it’s the principal of the matter. With a light shrug he turns to face the two, “Where are your sleeping quarters?” He fixed his gaze on Tao. “I don’t want to accidentally walk in and see you doing whatever it is you hybrids do.” The alien still hasn’t gotten used to the layout of Kris’ home and there’s been a few times where he wondered around and got himself lost.
