Zine update! I'm sooo close to finishing the digital proof!! Just alignment tweaks, final proofreads, the intro and extra text bits to write here and there, and one person who wanted changes to their story last minute are left! (Oh... And I actually have to finish my submission 🙃 still haven't done that...)
In all, 34(!!) people sent in submissions, which has come out to 104 zine pages, or 26 sheets! The printers are going to work with me to see if they can get it to work as a saddle stitch zine, but if not, the zine will likely end up being perfect bound because so many people submitted works!
I've never done a zine project even remotely close to this size, and the program I'm using for the layout is a pain in the ass, so it's been a ton of work, but I'm really proud of how it's turning out, and I can't wait to show and share it with everyone!!
I will likely be doing test prints by the end of the month, and after that's all set and the contributors have received their copies of the zine, I will be opening up the online shop I've already made a shell of for preorders. (Side note, I will be in Europe in August and I think I'm going to plan on sending European orders from there to cut int'l shipping costs from the US.)
This has been a wonderful experience, and I'm so happy that I was also able to achieve my goal of having in-person meetups to get help making the zine!! It's been so lovely and heart-warming meeting people from the community and I definitely want to keep planning and joining more in-person stuff in the future :3
So, long story short, big things coming in the next few months and I can't waiiiit until we get to show you all what we've made!! 😊
