UNITED! - A Self-Love Zine

LOOKING FOR ARTISTS AND WRITERS!

UNITED! is a for-profit original zine (digital and physical!) targeted to men and women of all ages for empowerment and going against the norm. This could be showing love towards their bodies (for example, boys who are not that muscular as others/girls who are not 'curvy' or do not fit the 'hourglass figure' standard, etc.), love towards their occupation (a man being a makeup artist or a woman begin a wrestler), love towards their sexuality (gay pride, trans pride, polyamorous couples, non-binary, etc.), love towards their family (a jock who adores their 'nerd' family), love towards their personality (narcissist looking at themselves in the mirror, 'emo' rocking out to music) , and much, much more. Overall, just pride in themselves! We were initially planning to accept 20 artists, 5 writers and merchandise artists! (25 in total) but it depends on how many sign up!

Hello Starlight! I’m happy to announce a new zine dedicated to Steven Universe, Beach City: Gemcation. Over the past week, the other Diamonds (our mods) and I were working on finalizing the information. We thought it would be a fun idea to put our favorite characters and new characters (gemsonas) in different types of seasons! (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.)

We are looking for 25 artists (traditional and digital artist) as well as 5 merch-only artists. We are not judging you on your skill, but how well your art style goes with everyone else’s.

This zine is a non-profit zine, but we will be trying to fund it through Kickstarter. Any extra money will be donated to charity. Our charity of choice is the Ali Forney Center. (I will link their info below.) We will be shooting for a March pre-order because the holidays are busy and I will be in another Kickstarter in Feb. If the Kickstarter is not fully funded, all artists will vote to order a bulk of zines to sell in their stores AND will receive a PDF of the zine.

RULES: - ABSOLUTELY NO GORE, GENDERBENDING, or NSFW! - Comic creators will receive ONE page unless we have accepted them for two pages. - For your Portfolio, you MUST HAVE AT LEAST THREE COMPLETED WORKS! One of those three MUST HAVE some sort of background, detailed or just a simple background. If you are creating a new gemsona, you MUST HAVE AT LEAST TWO WIPs OF YOUR GEMSONA! - If you are submitting traditional art, you must submit a high res scan, clean copy ready to be printed. - If you are submitting digital art, you must submit a high res .jpg ready to be printed. - All artwork submitted must be submitted in a standard zine size (6.625" x 10.25"), a minimum of 300 DPI, and in CMYK.
