Yeah man, i guess some people saw it as Dave Sprite doing something sweet but he got the wrong idea, while other just like dave over john? *Shrugs* At least John Reverts back to how he was back in act 1-5 after this intermission.

John loves his father very much. So much so that whenever he lost track of what he was doing, he defaulted back to finding his dad again. Finding his father dead makes him angry enough to beat Bec Noir to a pulp when they finally encounter each other in the dream bubbles, and it’s just.

Dave is basically copying what John’s dad did in order to insult John for his taste in movies. “Oh you stopped liking this thing you used to love? Haha wow I am so fucking proud of you just like your stupid father would be proud of literally just breathing let me pretend to be an insulting caricature of your father on this the day of your birth.”

That’s how I interpreted it, and it’s how John interpreted it too, and it’s just so fucking mean????
