Finished! . First #MPC challenge for 2019 and my second half marathon is in the tank! Feeling proud, especially considering the cold temps and my chest cold nonsense - 15°F was a bit much. 🥶🥶❄️ . We are sitting in Terminal D with a 3+ hour flight delay due to snow in Vegas. 😒🥺 . I’ve been REALLY grumpy about it. And grumpy with the other hiccups with this trip. Which is unusual for me - I am normally an easy going traveler and roll with the punches. Most of this stuff is out of my control and normal, rational me knows that. . We are traveling to Zion National Park for a race I am not excited about. If you have spent any time with me lately you’ve suffered my bemoaning about the training difficulties and what a painful chore 13.1 miles will be on Saturday. Uphill, at elevation, in single digit temps. 🥵🤬🥶It’s gonna be ugly, y’all. . I’ve realized that I am not meant to be a distance runner. The training hurts, the recovery really hurts, and the constant failure to live into the training plan is a total mind fuck. I’ve decided after the Tough Mudder in June, I’ll stick to short distances. . I am a Peaker, so this is my official “this sucks, time for an attitude adjustment” post. I am proud I didn’t quit and hopefully, I will feel proud at the finish. .
