canyoneering; deep in zion national park
Here's a piece I did recently for @adgnashville of Zion National Park - this one was strongly influenced by my experience of being there just a few years back. I was particularly struck by the sculpted and sensuous molding of the rocks; a truly beautiful place!! #zion #zionnationalpark #nationalparks #parks #oilpainting #poster #posterdesign #nationalparkposters #illustration #fineart #artistsoninstagram #zionnarrows #narrows
Yesterday an intrepid group of Adventurers, including myself explored the famed Narrows of Zion National Park. If you don't mind getting wet, it's pretty great. #travel #slotcanyon #publicland #publiclands #zion #zionnationalpark #zionnarrows #narrows #hike #nationalpark #adventure #explore #doyouevendetbro #canyon #waterfall #river #wet

Day 12 - Beckett summed up the last three days perfectly when he woke up and said, “My whole body hurts!” We’ve had a lot of difficult hikes over the last three days and Zion Nation Park was the most strenuous. We did several hikes including the Upper and Middle Emerald Pools and the Narrows. The water in the Narrows was freezing. Beckett’s feet were numb and after the water reached Mya’s waist she was ready to turn back as well. Zion was a 10/10 for it’s natural beauty. It was Mya’s favorite stop. She said that it looked like paradise, and if you could remove all the other people, I might agree. To Chad and I the beauty was dampened slightly by the amount of people in the park. We hadn’t done much research on the park and we were completely surprised by the whole situation - parking, crowds, shuttles, lines, etc. Chad thought it was like the Disney World of National Parks. I think without the worry of Covid it may not have bothered us as much. I also had a day full of reflection. For those of you that don’t know, my 26 year old cousin, Courtney, passed away unexpectedly earlier this summer. I spoke to my Uncle Jeff a few days before our trip to Zion and he told me about how much that she had loved the park when she visited. Courtney has been on my mind so often these past few months, but I thought of her even more when I looked out at the breathtaking views of Zion. I like to think that wherever you are now, Courtney, your views are even more magnificent than Zion or anywhere else that this world has to offer.
