“It’s been a few moons since the proposal...

“And I can only say that I grow more proud of how far they’ve come--Inay and Ziyo, that is. It’s hard to find them apart when they have the chance to spend time together, even when we take time away from the Lavender Halls to relax on the beach. I can’t fault that, really, not with what I know.

“I met Ziyo when all he knew was fear, waiting for the day he was going to die, whether by the hand of ally or foe. He knew not mercy or love, and that broke my heart when he finally opened up to me about his tale. It’s little wonder why Inay came to me for my blessing before that fateful day, after Ziyo invested so much in me...

“Inay has been a stalwart and loving partner to Ziyo, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a happier outcome. There were several bumps in the road, and life is never perfect, but they’ve learned to overcome the trials thrown in their path time and again. 

“This time away from the stage is good for everyone, I think... And I look forward to more smiles and laughs as the moon continues.”

An Adventurous Gift

Stuff happened so fast, even before Starlight came around. Jasui had to practice for his first show, get his thoughts together so he didn’t lose them all on stage, get bit by the bug of gift-giving, and make a trip all the way to the Fringes once the holiday rolled around. 

That was all on top of still maintaining his role as security at the Lucky Sparrow and errand runner at the Aeon Mercenary Company. And he had to admit to himself he had never been so busy before--and he had never been so happy before.

All amongst the flurry did he discover that his gift recipient turned out to be his secret gift-giver as well! At the second show of the Sixth Umbral Moon, Jasui had not-so-subtly pestered the Emerald Eorzean about just what he’d like for a gift. Adventure was the answer, and when the seeker offered it as a gift, the Raen claimed it was the gift he intended to give in turn!

With the gifts decided, the pair made for claiming a day to venture out. The esteemed Eorzean hero offered a trial of fighting in real battle or taking on a trial for treasure and glory--given Jasui’s own lack of experience, he offered a tentative answer to the second, only further encouraged to have conviction and state his answer with determination!

So off they went!

He hadn’t known what to expect, but recounting the experience, Jas could say he appreciated all of Kalas’s support. He doubted himself through so much, but the situation and his friend wouldn’t allow for that--and he surprised himself by the potential of his magic and resolve. 

They faced a number of foes, from vicious animals to actual combatants. Kalas had all the resolution in the land, and Jasui looked up to him all the more for his self-assurance--and was delighted with himself for taking the challenge of meeting the verdant victor’s expectations. 

They succeeded, and where Jasui thought himself sorely lacking, they both discovered his power in combat. He’d been so tentative to practice, given past complications, but with proper focus and some revelation, the haphazard mage could see his raw capability. While he had very little finesse, he had the resources to cast much more than he thought, and he knew that he could seek out Ziyo to help him refine it. 

When all was said and done, Jas couldn’t contain his excitement; it wasn’t even for the treasures and victory that came from the trial itself, but just the discovery and the relief that derived from the journey. Kalas invited him to create a persona to face much and more like their trip that day, which was quickly hammered in by the timely arrivals of the Ruby Reporter and the Moonstone Miqo’te. True joy had painted his face, but he knew he needed more time to really consider the idea...

The night wound down for quiet reflection in bed, pale eyes dreamily tracing the roof above his head. There was so much he could say, and he could thank each and every one of the Twelve for this opportunity to be here. The people, the people--the love and the warmth... 

He felt like he was home.
