Here's the fourth installment of the zodiac series! We have Luna representing the crab of the fourth zodiac sign (and the only sign ruled by a moon), Cancer!
The challenge with this one was to make it not look creepy. Not sure if I succeeded.
I also chose to use a blue crab's claws instead of, say, a dungeness crab's because I figured the bright red would make it look even more unnerving.
Also, @blood-moon8896, I did NOT forget your birthday! While it's probably not June 30 in your time zone anymore, it still technically is in the time zone I'm in right now, so I'm going to count it! Either way, happy (possibly slightly belated) birthday!
Here's the third installment of the zodiac series. It's Mercury (and parallel universe Mercury!) representing the twins of the third zodiac sign, Gemini!
I wanted to do more than have two Mercurys (Mercuries?) just standing next to each other, so I decided to have Mercury from a parallel universe showing up through a wormhole.
Can wormholes lead to parallel universes? Apparently. I guess in a series where I'm using talking planets to represent astrological signs, anything is possible!
The color scheme here is purple because Gemini is an Air sign and I decided to use purple for Air signs. Because.
Also: @thunder-shadow, I had every intention of getting this done and posting it on your birthday as a present for you ('cause I can't draw any decent Jupixturnus, haha), but alas, that wasn't in the stars. So please consider it as a late birthday present! I know we don't really know each other, but 1) you're cool, and 2) I think you were one of the first people I interacted with when I first started being active in the fandom on here, so there ya go! Happy belated birthday! 😁
It's time for the second installment of the zodiac series! Here is Venus representing the bull of the second zodiac sign, Taurus!
I figured I'd do Taurus next since we're technically still in Taurus as of right now (at least in my time zone).
I originally wanted that back horn to be behind the little circle thingy, but it cut it off at a weird angle, so I kept it in front, haha.
Also, to explain the background/text colors: these colors are going to relate to the element of the zodiac sign. Water signs get blue (like Pisces did), Earth signs get green, Fire signs get red, and Air signs get...purple, maybe? Purple's a good color.
Any Bulls out there? I think there's at least one of you... 😊
I promised y'all some SolarBalls/zodiac stuff a while back, so here's the first installment!
The idea is to have a stylized version of the ruling planet of each star sign representing (in some way) the star sign itself. Here we have Neptune representing the two fish of the twelfth zodiac sign, Pisces!
[And Jupiter is mentioned because he's the classic ruling planet of Pisces, but I'm giving prominence to the modern rulers so that more planets can be included, haha]
This is probably the least "SolarBalls-looking" one of these there will be because Neptune can, well, shapeshift, and thus just shapeshifted into two fish here, haha. The others will be more planet-like with just a feature of their sign present somehow rather than being the sign itself (like having a relevant physical feature for any animal-related signs or holding the relevant object for object-related signs). I also plan on making the planet designs less like the ones in the show (and the ones in my comics) just for the sake of practicing new styles.
I'm not going to do these in any sort of order, but I figured I'd start with Pisces since they usually are the ones that have to wait the longest (or scroll the furthest) to see something relevant to their sign in a set of zodiac-related things.
Any Pisces peoples out there? I hope you like it! :)
Also, not sure if anyone cares or is as pedantic about this sort of stuff as I am, but I used "fishes" as the plural of "fish" here instead of the more commonly used "fish" because "fish" is traditionally used to indicate multiple fish of the same type/species, while "fishes" is traditionally used to indicate fish of a variety of types/species. Since the Pisces fish are depicted as swimming in opposite directions to symbolize conflicting desires/thoughts, I consider them more like two different "types" of fish, so "fishes" seemed more appropriate. I also think "Pisces" is literally translated as "fishes" in Latin, but don't quote me on that!
