She tells Zoe about her second parent one day and Zoe realises who her invisible friend was, when she tells Chloe, she just smiles and pats her on the head. 25 years after Beca's death and Zoe moved out and into her own place, leaving Chloe all by her self once again. Beca realises that, even after all these years, Chloe still thinks about Beca, every day, even though Chloe goes on dates, she's unable to give her heart to someone else Because a part of her heart died the day Beca did. Once day, when Chloe's well in her 50's, she's hit by a drunk driver. Trapped in her car and unable to get out, she knows what's coming when she sees the person she's loved more than anyone else in her life suddenly sitting right next to her. Beca smiles sadly at her and Chloe knows, she knows and is at peace. "I've- I've missed you," Chloe stutters, hardly able to speak due to one of her lungs that collapsed, every breath she takes is torture. Beca smiles softly, a sad expression on her face while she caresses Chloe's face ever so tenderly. "I've never left," she states, Chloe's breath hitching in her throat and Beca can see the fear in those icy blues. "don't- don't l-leave me," she cries and Beca takes Chloe's hand in both her own. "Never." She whispers and guides Chloe slowly through her final breaths. "I'll always be with you, baby." As Chloe breathes her final breath, sirens blare through the silence of the dark night at the lonely road. The EMT's try but are unable to bring back the woman inside the car, like they are unable to see the two ghostly figures of two women who walk away from the scene, hand in hand while they slowly disappear into the darkness of the night.
