Turns out that the Japanese name for the 1988 horror movie Dead Heat is "Zombie Cop", and the Zombie Cop entry in Persona World's demon encyclopedia namedrops that movie. The Atlus pop culture rabbit hole just gets deeper and deeper.
Damn, so this is probably the only legacy Dead Heat actually has. But hey, at least you can say New Jersey comedy legend Joe Piscopo is partially behind the demon Zombie Cop. Abstractly. So not really.
I actually watched this last year. It’s... a movie. With Darren McGavin and Vincent Price!
