Olympus 35 EC2: I picked up this cool, little zone-focus gem on July 4th for $5.99. I was a little unsure about this camera because I’ve had another zone focus camera that I didn’t really click with. The $price$ was right though and it found a spot on my shelf.
I removed the top cover and cleaned the view finder, which was very simple. I removed the bottom plate as well, then cleaned out all the old light seal material. I also removed this material from the film door.
After I installed new foam, I loaded two A640 batteries that I have around for other cameras. The shutter fires and the light meter adjusts the shutter to changes in light conditions. This is awesome! There is an amber indication light on the top of the camera and inside the viewfinder. There is also a green indicator light that lets you know that a flash is in use. On the front of the camera there is a small lever that locks the shutter. Inside the viewfinder there are the customary Olympus zone focus symbols for distances: headshot, standing dude shot, group shot and the great mountain of Olympus. The focus ring moves easily and the catches click solidly into place. This little camera appears to be in perfect working condition now. I am excited to try out the automatic exposure system that this little Japanese camera uses.
