"He... He didn't exactly spring at the opportunity to rescue you." Zone looked away from her, rubbing the back of his neck. "If it were me, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. I don't care if you went willingly. You're... too important for that."
"'Rescue me'...?" she repeated, drawing her eyebrows in the middle whilst scrambling to recollect which circumstance he was referring in which she needed to be saved. "I don't know what you're talking abo-- Wait." Something clicked in her mind like a missing piece to a jigsaw puzzle. With one step forward, she leaned over and slid her hands to her knees, mouth bent, head tilted.
"You mean, that time when I was unconscious?" came her inquiry. "I don't know anything that happened during it. No one told me about it. All I remember was passing out in Galbadia Garden after we defeated Edea and then..." She swallowed thickly, averting her gaze away from his dark eyes. The memories of being released from Ultimecia's grip, being in possession of her own body again only to be surrounded by twinkling stars, donning a space suit, the rapidly depleting oxygen, mind teetering on the brink of eternal slumber, sad eyes fixating on the moon and the scarlet stream of monsters rushing to the earth, the guilt that gnawed her heart that it was her fault, the struggle to remain alive in the nigh impossible hopes that someone will find her while she continue to drift aimlessly and helplessly--she could still recall every single detail as if it was yesterday. Her lower lip trembled, quelled by a nip of her teeth, as she closed her eyes and softly whispered, "Waking up in the middle of outer space."
She straightened her posture and rested her hands at her side, redirecting her gaze straight at him. "And the person who rescued in me in outer space was Squall. He saved my life, Zone. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here right now." She extended a hand to place it on his shoulder, giving him a small smile. "Give Squall a chance. For me?"
