ALigneD - upcoming Chinese otome game announcement + demo
ALigneD is a Chinese otome game by Zoomob and HKACG (both Hong Kong based).
It’s coming to both Steam and Nintendo Switch, and will be available in Chinese and English. (plus other languages that aren’t revealed yet. I suspect French and Russian, maybe German and Spanish too). The game however is not voiced! And I believe this is the first otome game from Hong Kong (but far from the first Chinese otome game! There are a lot that most English-speaking players don’t know about).
This is a sci-fi story centered around a VR RPG world called Aaru.
The MC, Spica, is a streamer looking for her lost brother. (not famous, only a few people watch)
“Her adventure starts when she received an invitation to the VR Artist Award Ceremony in the virtual world. However, the event is disrupted by a malicious virus attack. Spica and her best friend Lyra immediately log out to avoid the attack, but the moments before they do, Spica sees a dark shadow behind Lyra. After logging out, Spica finds that her friend was unable to wake up in reality. She is then sucked into a conspiracy plotted by a group of cyber terrorists, who abducted people in the virtual world.“
The 2 starting routes are Arctic and Izar, but more will be added later.
The MC looks like the one to the left (red jacket) in the real world, and the one to the right in Aaru. All characters will have 2 sprites: one for the real world and one for Aaru.
The game looks like a management/stat raiser type of game. You set aside time to appointments, investigation, work, etc. When the affection lvl is high enough for a guy, you will trigger an event (scenario). Special holidays will be who you spend it with, like Valentine’s Day, and doesn’t require X affection. These events have CGs too.
Some other games that has a similar feature are “Blood Code”, “Dandelion”, and “Always Remember Me” (weekly schedule, not montly).
Unlike most games, where the background is a “this could be anywhere” castle, restaurant, room, park, etc., ALigneD has iconic places from Hong Kong.
