zootopia 2 spoilers and some speculation about possible theme of zootopia 3
Ok I know zootopia 2 only just came out and I'm jumping ahead a bit in what I want for number 3 (being realistic, it is a PG Disney family movie), but here we go.
Zootopia 1 was about developing respect and friendship, zootopia 2 put pressure on the partnership to force them to face up to what they really feel, how much they actually care about each other, that they are in love. It's made them a more united relationship.
If the pattern of pressure making them grow and develop as characters and a couple is still followed in zootopia 3 rather than just focussing on just being cops, the next logical bit if pressure is throwing a baby into the mix.
(no this is not a necessary part or goal of relationships in the real world, but again, this is an animated Disney show. We're lucky they even gave them a love relationship).
I'm not even saying it should be their baby or a baby they've adopted. That's moving too fast. This has got to be still about them figuring out what they want out of life together, so suddenly having a baby of a totally different species on their paws that they have to look after while trying to solve a mystery and find the parents or whatever is way more entertaining.
With the after credits hint of birds being involved in the next movie, I think it would be great if they had to take care of a bird's egg/chick because:
I really like the mental image of Nick carrying a large egg around strapped to his body in a Baby Bjorn and trying to pick things up and manoeuvre around furniture like a heavily pregnant woman
A newly hatched chick would imprint on them
If it's a species that hatches without feathers Nick would totally comment on how ugly it is and Judy would punch him for it and say it's adorable
It's totally foreign from anything they've dealt with before. For all Judy's a career bunny she's used to heaps of baby bunnies around, she probably thinks she can handle this, but maybe she can't handle this easily
they don't even know what species of bird this is to find the parents
The realisation that baby birds eat regurgitated food and resulting gross out
poo and the resulting gross out
Nick has to process some childhood trauma during all this. Maybe he's surprised to find he's pretty good with babies as it nestles down in his tail
Heartfelt moment when they're relieved to return the baby safely to the parents (eagles or something) but also they're going to miss that little guy.
I don't have any ideas around the rest of the plot btw, just this little collection of thoughts and scenes to share with you all.
