Hotaru took a seat on a small blanket, her eyes following the orbits of the various celestial bodies in her home solar system. Every now and again her eyes would go to the moon, which shone as brightly as the princess she served, before moving to a rather large planet with beautiful rings surrounding it.

“not that i don’t appreciate your talents,  mipha.”  as much as the rito took any chance he could to preen his own feathers,  he was never the type to ignore true talent.  and true talent the zora princess was,  that spear glistening in the sun with each perfectly timed and skilled strike.  revali slung his bow across his back as he landed,  talons digging into earth.  “but i did have a handle on the hinox.”  worry about yourself next time.  

he cast a disgusted glance at the fallen creature,  at the stray bokoblins pierced with arrows and occasionally twitching ruined limbs.  the hinox was far less appealing now,  he thought,  though perhaps because of the researchers' obscene request to bring its innards. not all of the trilling about science could convince him the request was rational.

Though Raine was still clearly unsettled by the Gulf, staying on the beach near the marina wasn’t too bad, even if she felt the need to retreat whenever the waves threatened to cascade over her feet. As long as she stayed on the shore she was safe, she had to keep reassuring herself. Turning away for a bit to look at the stalls lining the road and the crowds of people enjoying the summer air would allow her to relax for a moment.

“Have you collected much yet, Mipha? Since it is summer it seems that everyone is eager to pick up a souvenir at the beach, but I’ve managed to gather some impressive samples to study.” 

She carefully dropped her basket to the sand to show the other. Her collection contained a number of colorful oyster and clam shells, as well as some glass tubes she had brought containing sand. Undoubtedly she would have more luck with glass going across the waters to the City of Glass, but the professor still couldn’t find it in herself to feel comfortable traveling across the Gulf.
