I am curious on what galactic twist is because I got a post on my dashboard about Zorak about this? Sorry, I'm just curious cause I can't find anything when I look it up
It used to have a lot out there the reason it’s wiped clean is the parent company of a network I signed it over to years ago took ownership and made takedowns. Please note, I was inexperienced with the industry at the time and unaware this contract was in fact borderline illegal. I got conned into believing this was normal. I’m not going to say the network at all I signed with. But I had to private everything. The network told me “ if it’s going to be in an episode take it down.” So yeah it was a messy af thing, all for them to not want to make it because it might take away ratings from another similar show they put all their eggs in.
LESSON FOLKS: READ UP ON CONTRACTS AND DON’T SIGN OFF TO THE FIRST NETWORK WHO WANTS IT. RESEARCH! ALSO GET A LAWYER OR SOME LEGAL ADVISOR TO BE POSITIVE E ITS EVEN LEGAL! Don’t make the same mistake I did.
The reason I have not un privated the blog or reposted is I want to avoid certain things and I want to be sure if I upload anything no strikes will happen despite having rights back, I was also pitching to a streaming service and not taking the deal it didn’t work out so… yeah.
Now, I do have the rights back. [very hard to have done I felt like I was in a custody battle] I’ll give the gist of this.
Galactic Twist is a sci-if adult dark comedy show concept I created. I also made comics for it and it had a pilot + some animated shots and other media.
It’s about a family consisting of a space alien couple Asher and Kilolyte who travel the universe with their two children, Ryan and Olexis ‘Lex’. However their kids are not only adopted, they are HUMANS. The parents go on missions, the alien race the parents are from are a benevolent species even though, it never used to be that way. Their home planet was once ran by a rather incompetent, not the brightest, yet ruthless leader. This is before our main characters existed like… thousands. They weren’t born yet. [I bring this up because some eps had flashbacks to how it used to be.] Now, the family stays on Earth. Asher and Kilolyte tell them it’s a mission, and the parents love Earth. But the kids, their adopted HUMAN kids, don’t. They grew up on various alien planets, they’re used to higher technology and find earth rather odd, complicated, and primitive. However this mission seems to last way to long and the kids don't know if its actually a mission or if their parents are lying and they moved there.
Zorrick is a character on it, Kilolyte’s father. Originally a side character [once again he existed in my head before galactic twist but I threw him in as a side] but the more I developed him he is almost a main.
I came up with Galactic Twist as a way to cope originally. I was going through something and questioning almost everything and I even wondered, why do us humans over complicate things? I won’t lie, I projected onto the kids just a little. I am neurodivergent, I struggled fitting in with my peers and something’s everyone else seemed to just understand I did not. I sometimes felt like an outsider looking in. I always identified with alien characters on shows and found aliens rather cool and interesting. So I guess kids being raised by aliens made sense to me. But it lead to a silly and fun show idea.
Sorry I went into detail, I hope it helps you anon. Thank you for the ask, if I’m vague well, working on some more animation for it so I don’t want to spoil. :)
But I’m open to any questions.
