Once you have your 2 click flare orbit down you can take it to the next level by using this drill. . Phasing means you start on a different note every time you repeat the pattern. You do this by skratching a different number of notes than what the pattern has. The 2 Click flare orbit has 6 notes. That means it has 6 starting points, or phases. For this exercise we will skratch 5 notes at a time. We can number the 6 notes of the 2 click flare 1-2-3-4-5-6. Using these numbers the 5 note phases we get are: 1-2-3-4-5, 6-1-2-3-4, 5-6-1-2-3, 4-5-6-1-2, 3-4-5-6-1, and 2-3-4-5-6. . This is just one way to advance your 2 click flare. The more ways you can think of to practice the 2-click flare the more advanced and expressive your technique will become.
