It has been about a year since Zu's first ref sheet! And my art has definitely improved.
I don't think I've ever posted his original ref on here cause I was embarrassed, but im so super proud of his new one! So I'm here to share it :>
And also a few doodles of his lore!
Zu is a lab baby, he's a what if; you take a Pokemon and give it a monster soul. His matched pokemon was Zorua.
Which is a gross simplification of his lore but its the basis of it.
He currently doesn't live in his own au either, his lore is Mixed with Pookies (@hijinxmayhem) Sans, Limbo whom he views as his family/brother/parental figure. (This is only in one. Timeline, that being the only one Zu survives in. Hes doomed to die in all other ones) and his rough age is 22-24
There will be more on his lore and personality added to his art fight page when I get around to making it, eventually

And for a little treat! Fun fact/LORE time! Did you know that the time on the song card has a double meaning?
At 2.15 the line “Cause Blue Is Your Favourite Colour” plays. In reference to not only Limbo having a blue colour palette, but to how it is in fact Zu's favourite colour.
Why is blue Zu's favourite despite wearing reds and grays? Simple because its Limbos colour.
Zu connects the colour blue to love safety and home, all because of Limbo. As Limbo was the first person to show him there was another way to live, one that wasn't just hurt and pain.
So when asked what his favourite colour is, he thinks of the hand that reached out to him and pulled him out of the darkness. And the shining blue star that guided him to the light.
No matter what, blue will always be his favourite colour. Because it reminds him of Limbo, and that's his favourite thing

The fact that Zu is still technically part Pokemon is something I wanna explore more, hes a little poket Pal.
And also its adorable that if Limbo was a Pokemon trainer he would use heal balls so his pokemon would recover to full health. And it just fits his overall vibes. Though im not to sure on how Zu would react to actually being caught- but as long as its Limbo he probably won't mind too much.
