A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to start talking to the ever lovely @zuendwinkel who it turns out, is just as big a slut for Alistair and Art Nouveau as I am! And lo and behold - look at this absolutely stunning piece they created!!!!!!!

Late to the party, I forget Tumblr exists some days, BUT LOOK AT THIS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMINAL PIECE! @zuendwinkel did this for me as a part of a trade in a Dragon Age artists server we’re in, and I am still floored by how amazing this turned out! Just here to let you know: the way you handle everything on tumblr is a truly good example to others (mature, lovely and kind) and you are amazing.

Thank you so much friend 💞💞 it means a lot to me that anyone would think that when we're all just trying our best in the great wild west of the internet!

My wish for 2021 is that everyone is kind to each other in this fandom and that we come at every issue from a place of compassion while remembering that there are real people behind all these accounts. They may be hurting, they may have stuff going on, they may be struggling too.

People, real people, are more important than any aspect of fandom. No part of this is worth hurting another person over. I wish only the best to everyone and that we all get out of this fandom experience the joy, love, and passion we put into it.

I'm putting this energy into the universe and I hope other people do too ❤

Pets:

When she found Anders after the events of Kirkwall he had two cats, so that’s their pets. One is Ser Broody, which Alseia (their daughter) renamed Claudio. The other I was too lazy to name or describe in the fic. Let’s say it was a black cat he named Midnight.

Does she have nightmares of the past?  

Sometimes. Her father was violently killed by the Templars in front of her when she was just a child. That haunts her still at times. 

She used to have nightmares about her ex who had rejected her once she had a scar, saying she was no longer beautiful and no one would want her.  But after meeting Anders, she stopped having those dreams.

Trauma:

For her, not really. Anders sometimes struggles with it, but Kat is there for him when he does. If he’s remembering the Circle, she will hold him until he’s soothed. If it’s about the Chantry, she reminds him that his act freed the mages and ensured that their daughter would never be taken away when her magic shows.

Time Together:

Being parents to a young child most of their free time is spent with her, doing things like reading stories, playing games. They also enjoy snuggling together on the couch while Alseia plays with her toys or the cats.

Other OCs:

I think she’d get along great with Ari. They both tend to be upbeat and care about others less fortunate.

I think she’d tell Dria to stop worrying so much about what others think of her. If people left then it’s their loss. Get up and find a better quality of people to surround yourself with.

She’d think both Bethany and Sara are precious. She’d like that they are both so kind yet so strong and will stand up for themselves and their men.

Dark Sprawl (Ooh ooh!)

It’s extremely important to me that both you and @serial-chillr (who also asked me about this one 🥰) understand that the “ooh ooh” is meant to be like the “ooh ooh” in “Duck Tales! Ooh ooh!” Because I can’t think of the title of this dystopian post-Internet zombie sprawlpocalypse AU (reskin?) of the whole Dragon Age story without singing it to the theme song of the twice-made children’s show about ducks who talk and go on adventures but don’t wear pants. That’s probably the best synopsis of this one I can think of.

Actually, this was just supposed to be a modern AU Morristair “funeral home meet-cute” prompt for funkypoacher, but then, as I was writing backstory for the Surana in this one, it turned into an exploration of mental healthcare and education and technology and the privatization of...well, pretty much everything that should be a public good. And what happens when all those privatized things suddenly go away and there’s no longer the infrastructure to support life as we know it in the sprawling suburban hellscapes we’ve grown accustomed to. 

Heh. So yes. Duck Tales. Suburban angst. Neoliberalism...this folder has it all. And zombies...
