Strelou | Anonymous. day ii of zukaang week 2021, hosted by @zukaangweek <3 today’s prompt is “soulmates” and that is, assuredly, what these two are. there is a certain depth and gravitas to them that perhaps makes most a little intimidated by the pairing, but their perfect parallels and yin and yang statuses cannot be ignored. aang has chosen to love zuko since almost the near beginning, and even when his love had turned to more frustration and bitterness than anything wholesome, zuko still felt his pull from oceans away. likewise, aang felt the gravity of zuko’s connection to him and knew it was not something to be ignored. i imagine it takes these two a long time to find each other in the light of romance, but when they do, they rewrite the definition of soulmates. a million words could be said about aang and zuko, but in the end, none of them suffice. their relationship transcends lifetimes because they are the blueprint for the deepest and purest of relationships, formed on an adoration that cannot be destroyed, no matter how thoroughly the times or people attempt to do so. simply put, they are soulmates.
