Introduction: Shatterverse

This is an AU a friend and I started up in the messaging chatrooms of Tumblr. It revolves around a virus that slowly built up in the codes of different AU’s, all of them triggered by excessive use of the TRUE RESET by players. The virus ate away, corrupted, merged and twisted codes, evolving as it grew and spread through different AU’s before finally effecting the multiverse itself.

A good number of AU’s and timelines were wiped out of existence, leading Ink and Dream to start evacuating the ones at the verge of destruction. The virus affected the outcodes as well, merging codes to create new entities, destroying parts of the multiverse, corrupting codes and even altering them to a point that they turn into completely different characters.

Dream takes it onto himself to save any remaining AU’s when Ink is affected by the glitch, turning him into a reclusive persona, traversing through universes to save any more Soul’s from being corrupted. Aided by CORE!Frisk, he transports any survivors to the OMEGA timeline in hopes they live on long enough for the virus to be eliminated.

Meanwhile, a new outcode finds themselves in a pickle: The virus having appeared around the time they came to be and the annoying fact that they have no memory of who they once were…while another battles out her own inner demons.

Concepts:

*Unifiers: Due to the affects and abilities of the virus, this AU is a nightmare to think of. We’re introducing two of our OC outcodes for starters with hopes they don’t disappoint along with character corruptions and fusions. That’s right, new skeletons are going to be walking the ramp. What a rip off of Pokémon fusion-

*Corruptions: I personally call them the Malifs, these are codes rom AU’s that were strongly affected by the virus to a point where they last even after the destruction of their world. Due to the alteration, erasure and corruption in their base code, their Souls are twisted and the monsters turn into animalistic beasts. They feed off live codes from AU’s and outcodes. The corruptions roam around the multiverse and should any outcode stumble y one, they should be exterminated.

Because honestly? They don’t give a shit about whether you’re good or bad; they’ll rip your Soul out and devour you whole either way.

*Alters: Entities whose codes have been altered to a point where their personalities or a certain aspect of them changes. It can be a minor change or a drastic one, but alters usually imbibe or loose a power or ability. A few examples who have gone through this are Ink and Error.

*Switches: Entities that had a part of their codes switched, imbibing certain aspects and behaviors of the other. For example, a character might just take on a defining or minor power from another while the other receives a power from them. In other words, it can be defined as a partial fusion of sorts.

Characters:

Riona.exe/Floret: An OC created by @bloomingsoulflower, Riona was a human who once lived in the surface of the original Undertale universe. After falling into the anti-void, her Soul glitched out and she turned into an Outcode. Her blunt personality had her develop a friendship with Error…then the virus happened. Kih: (pronounced ‘key’) An OC created by @xandrathepotato, they appeared in the multiverse around the same time the virus came to be. Unfortunately an amnesiac, they are trying to decipher whether they have any connections to the virus. Further covered later.

Corrupted!Ink/Ebony!Ink: With his vials having been altered and corrupted by the virus, Ink finally possesses a Soul, though with a price. His integrity and morals. Due to now possessing a darkened Soul, Ink withdraws to cope with the overwhelming feelings and thus puts the multiverse to ruin. Further covered later.

Corrupted!Error/Solecynt!Error: The treaty between Ink and Error calmed things down for the destroyer. While still salty, he takes to working on his hobbies, eating junk and trying to pry Riona off his stash of stolen food. But the virus alters his personality code, resurfacing the brutality he once possessed and multiplying it further with a side of his morals being wiped out. Now a being of chaos, he seeks to satiate his sadistic desires by destroying more AU’s. Further covered later.

Demise: A corrupted version of Dust!Sans...turns out LV and a destructive virus aren’t a good combination. Demise is at the brink of giving into bestial instincts and behaviour thanks to his code’s corruption and the amount of DETERMINATION and LOVE contained in his Soul. Papyrus has turned into fading voice due to the new state his Soul is falling into. Further covered later.

Muse!Sans/Muse: After the destruction of his AU, Zure (Underswap Sans, rhymes with ‘Azure’) aids Dream in saving any codes who are affected by the virus. Unfortunately a run in with a corrupted code turns things…for better or for worse? I don’t know, but with Dream and Blue’s combined codes, Muse was formed. Further covered later.

Jackpot: Blue and Dream aren’t the only ones with fused codes. Add Error’s worst nightmare and our favorite meme lord and we get the ultimate jackpot. Nobody knows how Fresh and Epic’s codes merged, but the new code appeared one day with his far out attitude and own set of tales to share on his escapades with the virus. Further covered later.
