I love that special Christmas Items! I know they are usually the same thing, but they are hard to find and special years later. That brings me to a question... Do you know about gashapons?
Oh heck yes! I have a lot of Gashapon items, especially Zyudenchi for my Gaburevolver. That’s how I got the 00 Tobaspino one that I needed to complete my set of Show/Movie used Zyudenchi.
A few years ago, while attending Ushicon, I came up with an idea for a series called Godshapon: The Divine Vending Machine. The basic idea was that outside of a run-down, barely visited shrine is a Gashapon machine. Troubled people go there and put in 100 yen. When they open the little plastic ball, a random god comes out to answer their problem using whatever skill set or aspect they represent.
“I want to get promoted at work.” *POP* Dionysus appears and recommends you go drinking with your Boss more often.
“I like this girl at school but another guy also wants to go out with her and I’m worried she might choose him.” *POP* Guan Yu appears and instructs you to challenge your rival to single combat in front of the school.
*Um, I’m having problems with money, what can I do?” *POP* Loki appears and gives you instructions on how to run the greatest con the world has ever seen.
“I wish I were better looking.” *POP* Inari pops out, sits down and tell you to eat a bowl of rice. It might not help with your looks but hey, at least you’ve got rice.
They aren’t always very helpful.

Here's my take on a Black Dino Charge Ranger movie helmet.
Starting with the most obvious change, the loss of the mouthplate. Believe me guys, I really tried to figure out a way to keep the mouth piece there but I couldn't find a way to make it look natural and organic. Luckily for me, there are two things that sort of justify this look and helps me sleep at night, the existence of the "mouthless" version Dino Super Charge helmets, and it's reminiscent look to the movie Megazord's face.
I was originally planning on having some detail resembling teeth (yellow outline around the visor in the TV show) on this but looking at the red's movie helmet, and they way the artist turned T-rex teeth from the show to a simple, sharp strip along the visor... if that's supposed to be teeth, then I can't simplify that any further for a herbivore dinosaur other than to not have anything. I would add it to the green and red ranger helmets since they're based on carnivore dinosaurs, but Black, Pink, and Blue wouldn't have anything. If I decide to model the rest that is. I'd rather model a Parasaurolophus Zord first.
You might look at the chin and say it was a missed opportunity to not have that same blocky design over the chin (that reaches up to the bottom lip) that the official helmets have, but it wasn't working for me. I did a version that was sharper and was supposed to have that gunmetal material on the sides, but due to the shape of the "cheeks"/visor, the whole mouth area turned out looking very Ironman-like. It might be hard to picture but with those contours and highlights, it somehow shared more similarities with the ironman helmet than the movie helmets so I decided to keep it smooth. What's left is supposed to help it look more like the show helmet anyway.
Moving on to the texture and shaders, I know it's not %100 like the official versions but I did a ton of test trying to figure out the look and I'm pretty damn proud of these results.
I've designed and sculpted the top half of the suit as well although the model definitely isn't this far along. I might upload some screenshots so you can see the direction I'm going in.
Thanks for looking! All feedback is welcomed. I hope to see other artist's interpretation of Dino Charge movie helmets.
The list of Power Rangers Dino Force/Kyoryuger Brave Zyudenchi has surfaced online!
GABURINCHO! Also, YAY! Zyuohger Zyudenchi!
DX Metallic Bunpachy Zyudenchi. Anyone want it? I'm trying to sell it. US only please. #kyoryuger #zyudenchi #zyudensentaikyoryuger #supersentai #powerrangers #dinocharge #dinosupercharge #prdsc #prdc #zyuohger
I almost passed on this set, I would have regreted it so much! They're so awesome! They still work with the GabuRevolver if anyone is wondering. #kyoryuger #zyudenchi #diecast #parasagun #SuperSentai
When Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger was ending, I picked up a bunch of the merchandise for a fairly good price thanks to them having to clear the shelves for ToQger toys.
I didn’t feel like scouring the net to find the individual Zyudenchi that were all used in the show, so I sprung for the DX Box Set and then had to find a fairly cheap 00 Tobaspino on eBay.
The Minityra was also an eBay purchase but the Gaburevolver was purchased from Amazon for a pretty nice price (way cheaper than you can find them now).
The Super Sentai Zyudenchi were something I picked up on a whim with only the ZyuRanger and AbaRanger ones being something I really felt I had to have for the set given their prominence in the crossover movie. The other three I have are for GaoRanger, Hurricanger and DekaRanger.
The EX one is just something I picked up to find out how it would sound. It lists off the actual names of the dinosaurs for the five main Kyoryugers and a fact about each. It’s a pretty long sound and I like it.
Lastly, I picked up the Kyoryuger Ressha on Amazon because it was fairly cheap and played a part in the Kamen Rider X Kamen Rider: Showa vs. Heisei movie.
A lot of people might not like Kyoryuger, but I did and I really loved the sounds the weapons made, which is why I picked these up when I had a bit of spare cash lying around.
I am really glad I did. The Power Rangers version of the the Gaburevolver is TINY and totally nerfed compared to the original. Much like the Mobirates vs. the PR version. If you want to cosplay as an adult with good-sized props, always spring for the Japanese versions except for the blades. The swords are always so short, which is why I don’t have a Gabucaliber.
