Full Confession: Watching the dub as I get older, I'm noticing things I didn't notice before, that sometimes they are commenting/making a joke about what's going on on screen. Almost like an "Abridged series" before they existed. Like in ep 5 of Adventure when they are in the dark and Andromon is coming after them. Tai says "It might be a good idea to keep moving…" And Joe replies with "Well, I'm for that!" … Yet they just keep standing there. So Tai says, "OR we could just stand here FROZEN until the monster gets us!" I understand why some might hate that type of humor, but I love it, and realizing they are commenting on the scene makes it even funnier. It's like, one dub joke I always hated for being stupid was in 02 when Ken's mom talks about playing with a label maker, and then says "I even labeled the toilet!" - To which Ken scoffs like, 'what an idiot", and I agreed, but for the first time a few years ago I noticed… THE DOOR BEHIND KEN HAS A LABEL THAT SAYS TOILET!!!!! … Really quickly that went from my least favorite dub joke to my favorite, because they were commenting on the scene. (…I noticed on another watch that the same label is in TK's apartment, and makes me wonder if labeling toilets in the house is/was a thing in Japan, but that's a different topic.)
