// HEY i just got back and now i’m gonna be gone again for a lil while LOL
osakandetective replied to your post “Everything hurts. Regret. “I’m never drinking again.”
"Famous last words!"
“Never, ever, ever, again, Hattori-kun.”
Everything hurts. Regret. “I’m never drinking again.”
caseclosededogawa:
Haibara placed her order before quickly ordering for Agasa, the professor clearly sad about the diet his ‘daughter’ was forcing him to undertake, before the other kids placed their orders.
“Hey Takagi-niisan,” Ayumi said after ordering, “Has Chiba-keiji finally figured out that the police lady who rides with Yumi-san loves him yet?”
“A-ah, I-I wouldn’t really know,” he stuttered awkwardly, caught off guard by the sudden gossipy question. Couldn’t help but wonder how these kids ended up knowing so much about the goings-on in the police force’s love lives.
It all seemed to start when Conan showed up.
caseclosededogawa:
“Sorry,” Shinichi replied before giving his order to the new waitress, “You’re right. We should have fun. How about after dinner you come watch Yaiba with us? I’m sure Hakase will appreciate not being the only adult in the room.”
Not to mention it would keep Takagi close. If the detective was stuck in Gunma, he’d at least make sure the right culprit was arrested if something happened.
“Of course! I would be happy to, Conan-kun,” he beamed. It would make the kids happy and reassured, he figured. After an unnecessary story like that, the kids would be probably be frightened (minus Conan and Haibara). His nephew was like that when he was younger, so the detective knew that a comforting presence would help.
Placed an order for some udon and a small bottle of sake. He rarely touched alcohol, but since it was his last night of anything making sense until the Gunma police force was back on its feet, he would gladly have a drink.
caseclosededogawa:
“Probably because they have to work with Yamamura-keibu,” Mitsuhiko said flatly, “At least when Keiji-san ignores what we tell him he’s at least doing a good investigation… And he’ll admit when we have a good point even if he’s scary…”
“Yamamura-keibu also thinks he’s some sort of demon slayer now,” ‘Conan’ said with a heavy sigh, “Which is really against detective work and investigation. The laws of physics, math, and science don’t apply to the supernatural and believing in them only hinders a case.
Not to mention how annoying it is when he waves those stupid prayer beads of his in everyone’s faces as he pretends to be some sort of monster slaying master-mind. So… Be prepared for that, Takagi-keiji.”
Heaved a sigh of his own. Again, just thinking about Yamamura’s antics was giving him a headache. And here he was thinking he’d be able to relax. “I’ll just do the best I can,” he said, “Despite what Yamamura-keibu believes, I’m still a detective and I’ll do my job.”
Grinning and changing the subject, he said, “Let’s not worry about that. Tonight is for us to have fun, right?”
caseclosededogawa:
Ayumi nodded and sniffled. “Okay…”
“We’d like a different server,” Haibara demanded to the waitress, the woman scuttling off by everyone being so cold to her.
“Let’s try to enjoy the rest of dinner,” Agasa said sheepishly as he tried to comfort Genta, “Shabu-Shabu and udon! It’s been awhile since we’ve had that. What about you, Takagi-keiji?”
“No, not in a while,” he answered simply. What was with that woman? Scaring children like that...
Realizing he was still playing the role of the serious detective, he put on a small smile and said, “C’mon, kids, don’t worry about what that lady said. You know supernatural stuff like that doesn’t exist, right? There’s always a logical explanation for everything.
“Between you and me, I bet all those police officers called in sick to avoid going to work,” he whispered comically loudly.
caseclosededogawa:
“Maybe it’s a curse from the futakuchi-onna,” the waitress said as she began to hand out drinks, “There’s rumors that the owner of this inn is one. You never see the back of her head. And she always orders a lot of food… And she has this old axe-”
“Oi,” Shinichi interrupted angrily. Ayumi and Mitsuhiko were clinging to Takagi in fear as Genta looked near tears and the detective was not having it. “How about instead of scaring us you take our order?”
“Conan-kun,” Agasa tried to soothe as he mouthed an apology to the offended waitress.
“I’m not sorry. Besides. There’s no such thing as futakuchi-onna,” Shinichi huffed, “Right, Takagi-keiji?” He hoped hearing it from an adult the kids trusted would help soothe the Detective Boys’ worry.
Slipping effortlessly into a serious tone, he said firmly to the waitress, “That’s quite enough. Please do not frighten the children.” His eyes were steely, showing that he meant business if this woman continued her horror story.
Gently placed either of his hands on Ayumi’s and Mitsuhiko’s shoulders, his stern demeanor lightening a little. “Don’t worry, kids. The futakuchi-onna doesn’t exist, and even if it did, I wouldn’t let it hurt you,” he murmured reassuringly.
caseclosededogawa:
“So is there some sort of bug going around the Gunma police office,” Haibara asked, “It’s unusual they’d ask someone from another prefecture just to fill in for a person calling out sick. The only reason I can think of is that many of them called out sick and so now they’re pulling from other prefectures to fill in the gaps.”
Sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. Haibara was sometimes just as good as Conan when it came to accurate deductions. “Unfortunately, yes. It seems like there’s some kind of outbreak in the police force here. They don’t know what caused it, but efforts to regroup have been... fairly slow.”
Of all the places for him to be sent to to fill in for police officers, why couldn’t it have been somewhere, anywhere, else? Preferably somewhere warm, like Naha. Supposed a nice hotel with a hot spring was fairly good compensation for such a job.
Waving his hand as if to dismiss the subject, he said, “B-but enough about work. Until tomorrow, I’m on vacation.”
caseclosededogawa:
“Me too,” Genta said as he began marching towards the restaurant in house. Agasa chuckled as the rest of the kids fell in line, Haibara sticking close to him while ‘Conan’ stuck close to Takagi.
“Thank you for joining us,” Agasa said to the officer as they entered and found themselves a table, “I know it means a lot to the children. They really do adore you.”
Shinichi somewhat laughed inwardly. The adoration was fairly obvious with how Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko were trying to decide who’d get to sit next to Takagi. “Takagi-keiji’s going to be here a few days,” the detective interjected, “So how about Mitsuhiko and Ayumi get to sit beside him tonight and the next meal it will be me and Genta. That way it’s fair. And before you ask, Haibara prefers sitting next to Hakase, so I’m not including her.”
“Yes,” the kids agreed, Genta pouting as he sat beside ‘Conan’.
He couldn’t help but smile watching the kids bicker over who was going to sit next to him before Conan wisely came up with a fair plan. Conan always seemed to have the answer to everything, from petty squabbles to serious cases. It just made him wonder about the boy.
Bowed his head to the professor. “Thank you for inviting me, Agasa-san. I’m glad to find friendly faces out here in Gunma. It’ll make the stay more enjoyable.” And much, much less excruciating, he added mentally.
caseclosededogawa:
Genta, Ayumi, and Mitsuhiko turned to Takagi, Ayumi full on hugging one of the officer’s legs. “Takagi-keiji,” they cried out in unison before they settled down.
“I think he’s going to use a Yaiba kick to take him down,” Mitsuhiko said as he got into a martial arts pose to mimic the show’s protagonist, “Or maybe use his motorcycle!”
“Did you watch it with Chiba-keiji,” Genta asked, “Chiba-keiji’s a big fan! He has all those toys and videos!”
Laughed lightly. “I watched it on my own, actually. I was a fan of the older Yaiba series’ that aired when I was a kid, so I’ve been keeping up on the new series,” he explained. It seemed silly that he, a grown man, loved to watch a TV show for kids, but he supposed there were stranger hobbies to have.
His stomach growled, so he suggested eagerly, “Let’s get some dinner, hm? I don’t know about you all, but I’m starving!”
kaitouphantom1412:
This is another reason I love Wataru Takagi! He’s practically a part of the Detective Boys! XD
@takagi-keiji
caseclosededogawa:
“Yes,” the boys all cheered, ‘Conan’ joining in to seem more child like.
“We’ll see you for dinner then, Takagi-keiji,” Shinichi said with a wave before relaxing in the water. It had been awhile since he’d bathed in a hot spring and, despite being with Mistuhiko and Genta, he was going to enjoy himself.
After the bath, the Detective Boys went back to their rooms and changed before returning to the bath entrance to wait for Takagi. Ayumi practically bounced in place, happy to hear that the officer was there too.
“Hey hey,” she said to the others, “Do you think Takagi-niisan will want to watch Yaiba with us later?”
Feeling much more refreshed after some time alone in his room (sometimes he forgot how much uninterrupted silence could boost his mood), he changed into one of the yukata the hotel generously provided and wandered back to the bath to meet the Detective Boys.
Smiled when he overheard Ayumi’s question. He did have all night before he had to report into the station, so he answered casually as he approached, “You know, I caught last week’s episode of Yaiba, and I’m curious how he’ll defeat Bolt Robot...”

“ Just rest, ”
She gently pushes his head back down on the pillow, chuckling. He’s always so enthusiastic- that was a good thing; he needed to stay motivated in order to get better. Sato heads out of the room, lingering for a moment in the doorway before she flicked off the lights.
“ Thank you, Takagi-kun. I hope you’ll like it. ”
Blushes furiously, his heart pounding in his ears as he watches Sato leave his room. “I-I’m sure I will,” he murmurs. Finally relaxes into his bed, breathing out a heavy sigh.
What did he ever do to deserve someone like Sato taking care of him? Surely she has better things (and probably more pressing things) to do than look after a sick, overworked detective.
Not that he could really complain.
🍺+Thoughts on your managing officer, Kuroda?
Send 🍺+ a question and my muse will answer drunk!
“Scary...” Everything is very spinny and fuzzy. Sways in his seat, so he lays his head back down on the table, groaning about something incomprehensible.

Send 🍺+ a question and my muse will answer drunk!
Downs another drink like the champ he is, a big, doofy grin on his face. “Hhhhell yeah, I will!” he exclaims. Conveniently finds Sato (since they’re at the same bar, it seems) and gives her a big ol’ drunk smooch.

“ Takagi–?! ”
Well. She certainly wasn’t expecting that… there’s a tomato-red blush on top of her already flushed cheeks, but she eventually just breaks out into laughter.
“ You could’ve– *hic* –asked me, dummy!~ ”
{ :▻❀◅: }
And she gives him a big smooch back.
