2011 Observations | 2012 Observations
Instead of using the same layout as the 2012 observations, following the tour day-by-day, the 2013 tour observations below will be more relaxed (similar to the 2011 observations).
“T/N” = Translator Notes. It denotes something I am thinking or clarifying.
♡ This is more of an observation about Takauno as a pairing, rather than Nishijima and Uno. On April 20th, Twitter exploded with excited chatter about a “new Takauno song” (「たかうのnew曲」). After a few hours, a couple of fans that went to AAA’s first performance (April 20th in Tokyo) confirmed that there was, in fact, a new Takauno song, and that the song had a cute performance to match. (This was one of the first fan confirmations). Fans were SO happy! I could hardly keep up with the Takauno tag and #AAAEW official hashtag. This made me feel so proud and happy of Takauno as a pairing.

♡ “Mystery solved!” During the Nishijima/Hidaka/Atae 「超WHITE DAY PARTY IT UP!!」 Nico broadcast, Nishijima was asked to recommend an AAA song for a wedding. He grinned, saying that he had recently recorded a new song, to be released in 2013, and that it would be ideal for weddings. Fans thought this was very mysterious, but now know he was referring to the new Takauno song!
♡ Tour 2013: On May 3rd, Takauno made a lot of eye contact! At some point during the concert, Uno was saying (singing?) French words, and as she did it, Hidaka and Nishijima did a strange dance around her. Nishijima and Uno laughed together. (As a side-note, Shinchia hugged during the May 3rd concert!)
♡ Tour 2013: During an MC segment on May 3rd, the members were talking about “umeboshi” (pickled ume fruits). Uno said she liked them a certain way, and Nishijima disagreed, purposely trying to provoke Uno. At this time, they were standing in this order: Sueyoshi, Nishijima, Hidaka, Uno, Ito. (I’m not sure where Atae and Urata were in relation to everyone else). There was some distance between Nishijima and Uno. Nishijima bent backwards, “Matrix” style, pretending to avoid a “bullet.” He did this to avoid Uno. Sueyoshi told Uno to headbutt Nishijima. Nishijima pretended to headbutt and yelled, “Umeboshi attack!"
♡ Tour 2013: Also on May 3rd, during the performance of Hurricane Riri, Boston Mari, Nishijima and Uno ran to be with each other. When Uno tried to leave, Nishijima grabbed her and didn’t let go! ♡
♡ Tour 2013: On May 4th, during Break Down, Uno accidentally did the wrong choreography at one point. Nishijima was looking at her and noticed this. He hit her playfully. They were very flirtatious!
♡ Tour 2013: On May 6th, Nishijima, Uno and Hidaka were together a lot during the MC’s.
♡ Tour 2013: On May 18th, Nishijima and Hidaka persuaded Uno (whom they affectionately called "Misaemon”) to do a voice impression of Doraemon (a popular kids’ manga/anime character). To get her to do the impression, Nishijima said, “Misaemon is always in our hearts!” The audience screamed, “Misaaeemooonnn~!” Uno laughed and hastily did an impression of Doraemon’s voice. The audience laughed and cheered.
♡ Tour 2013: During the May 26th performance of 777, Nishijima was making silly faces to try to make Uno laugh (like he did in the making of SAILING). Uno noticed and imitated him! They laughed together.
♡ In a magazine interview, Uno said, “Nishijima is like a shining star in my heart. It’s not as if a few words can convey this feeling.” (Big thanks to ssanchan for helping translate this!)
♡ In another magazine (?) interview, Uno was asked about future AAA plans. She said, “Nishi and I are the same; we’d like to appear on variety shows. He and I have had this in mind for quite a while.”
♡ Tour 2013: On June 2nd, after a costume change, Nishijima and Uno shook their hips cutely while Sueyoshi did a handstand. Nishijima started to do a weird dance and then Uno did the dance together with him. Cute!
♡ In 2010, when Nishijima was preparing his “24” photobook, he was talking with other staff members about who should be the woman featured in the “date” section of his photobook. They discussed a variety of different models, but Nishijima didn’t like that idea. “I just kept thinking about Uno-chan.” He personally asked her to be part of his photobook, and she said yes!
♡ In the past, Uno said, “I asked Nishijima to eat ice cream with me. It was the first time we did something like this together. Out of all the members, he is the one I thought of first.”
♡ In one of Atae’s talkshows (July 2013), he said, “So, there have been rumours among AAA fans about "Takauno” and “Shinchia.” Do you think we should date?“ The audience went crazy! Then he said, "What about Uno-chan and I?” The audience happily screamed (in playful defiance), “Taaaakaunooo!”
♡ On the second day of the tour (April 21st), Nishijima whispered something to Uno during their drama performance. The audience screamed in excitement! During 777, Nishijima and Uno came out to the stage together. Nishijima did a silly walk and Uno imitated him.
♡ “General Tour 2013 Fact 1!” (No date specified). At one point, Uno’s ear monitor fell out of her ear on one side. She didn’t notice, but Nishijima did! He quietly went up to her and tenderly placed it back in her ear.
♡ “General Tour 2013 Fact 2!” (No date specified). During one of the MC segments, Nishijima kept flirting/playing with Uno quietly.
♡ "General Tour 2013 Fact 3!“ (No date specified). Also, during one of the MC’s, Nishijima pretended (mimed) to eat a watermelon. He "divided” it in half and offered Uno the other half. They pretended to eat it together. (T/N: According to this report, this happened on July 28th).
♡ “General Tour 2013 Fact 4!” (No date specified). During a drama performance, Nishijima motioned to Uno to come close to him (in a “come here” way). They both smiled and she obediently went closer to him. These two people had a sneaky story. ♡
♡ “General Tour 2013 Fact 5!” (No date specified). During a performance of CALL, the choreography required that Nishijima and Uno pass by each other. However, instead of passing by each other without expressions like they usually do, they both grinned and stared at each other while passing. Something funny was happening between them!
♡ “General Tour 2013 Fact 6!” (No date specified). Nishijima said “Piripiri kyan kyan. (T/N: These are Japanese onomatopoeias/mimesis’ that translate to something like, [a sharp sensation] [yell]. Nishijima often relies on onomatopoeias/mimesis’ to describe his emotions, rather than actual words. In this case, he was basically describing a surprising reaction.) Uno Misako is truly an adult woman.”
♡ On August 3rd, 2013, during an MC tour segment in Sendai, all of the members put their microphones down on the stage in front of them, while they were playing a game, because they needed their hands for cues. Like a gentleman, Nishijima took her microphone and placed it on the ground for her. Then he kneeled in front of Uno and they looked at each other, face-to-face. ♡
♡ On August 5th’s a-nation performance, Nishijima and Uno put their arms around each other’s waists, so they were shoulder to shoulder, and sang together! The audience screamed happily and some fans were so excited they cried!!
♡ “General Tour 2013 Fact 7!” (No date specified). “Misako’s Summer Song.” During an MC segment, Nishijima sang a few lyrics to a song and inserted “Misako” repeatedly into the lyrics. Eventually, Uno sang with him. She watched him with a smile. ♡
♡ “General Tour 2013 Fact 8!” (No date specified). During another MC segment, Atae was reacting to something and said – in an emotionless (monotone) voice – “Cute.” Uno laughed and made fun of the fact that he said it in such an emotionless manner. Suddenly, Nishijima said, “Uno-chan is cute, cute,” in a low voice. (T/N: I think he was trying to be “sexy.” ;))
♡ 「めざましライブ2013」 (August 30th, 2013). During Love in the Air, Nishijima and Uno were very playful together! The choreography required that they pass by each other. During this moment, Nishijima made a silly face at Uno and then smiled. They laughed together!
♡ Nishijima and Uno came up with the concept/story for the lyrics of drama, and Hidaka wrote the lyrics based on their thoughts. ♡ Nishijima described the song as a “Tokyo Love Story.”
♡ “Hospitality~” On September 14, before singing drama, Nishijima went very close to Uno and whispered in her ear. (T/N: Fans were very excited about this on Twitter! *Apparently this has become part of the performance. Takauno does this every time now.)
♡ Also on September 14th, during the MC, when the staff members brought out the celebratory anniversary cake (“Happy 8th Anniversary, AAA!”), Uno said, “Should we eat some?” Nishijima said, “I can’t eat it.” Uno said, “I’ll eat it, you know~” Again Nishijima said, “I can’t eat it.” Uno said, “It’s marzipan.” It was a cute exchange between the two! ♡ It felt like a private backstage/dressing room moment.
♡ Also on September 14th, during the MC, the AAA members were reminiscing about their debut in 2005. Suddenly, Nishijima imitated the way Uno used to sing. Haha♡
♡ On September 28th, a lot of Takauno moments happened during the tour! Nishijima kept approacing Uno during the MC’s and poked her on the shoulder a few times. ♡ When the AAA members were throwing signed balls into the audience, he went next to her and showed her how to throw the ball really far. Afterwards, when they were all taking their positions to prepare for the next song, he didn’t remember where to go. He looked at Uno and she showed him where he should stand. He wasn’t convinced, so he kept looking back at her many times, waiting for her to reassure him that he was in the right place. Haha. Before singing drama, he motioned for Uno to come close to him (in a “come here” way). She happily went closer to him.
♡ In the October 14th live, there was a lot of eye contact between Nishijima and Uno! In the dressing room, before the show, Nishijima played music on his iPhone to match Uno’s workout. They were alone together in the dressing room. ♡ After all of the members ate dinner, Nishijima and Uno went to play at a local park with Urata and Atae. Cute!
