WIP, not finished yet
I bring a “you can love multiple people in both unique and similar ways with the same amount of intensity and it doesn’t diminish your feelings for each of them individually, because love is not a finite resource” to the function that a lot of people aren’t down with.
Thank you for all you do!
I'm doing some 1880s fashion research for a story and came across these pictures on Fashion History Timeline that I think you'd like:
Fig. 6 - Alvan S. Harper (American, 1847-1911). Woman with a fan made of feathers, ca. 1886. Glass photonegative; (7 x 5 in). Tallahassee: State Library and Archives of Florida, HA00288. Source: Florida Memory
(I was so struck by the detail and the expression on her face.)
Fig. 2 - C.L. Kempf (American). Three quarter length portrait of elderly lady in a plaid dress, ca. 1880. Photographic print on cabinet card; 17 x 11 cm. New Haven, CN: Yale University: Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library, 2002262. Source: Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library
Fig. 1 - Alvan S. Harper (American, 1847-1911). Man holding a top hat, ca. 1880s. Glass photonegative; (7 x 5 in). Tallahassee: State Library and Archives of Florida, HA00426. Source: Florida Memory
(I don't know the story behind any of these--the sources don't share anything other than the caption. Thought they'd make a nice reference though!)
@uptownlowdown would like this too!
"The horrors persist but so do libraries, books, iced coffee, sunsets, trees, the word 'fuck', the moon and the sea."
As visually stunning as The Legend of Aang is, it's really disappointing to see the characters' ethnic features (mainly their eyes and noses) stripped away. It's especially noticeable on Katara and Sokka when you compare them to how they looked in the original series and even in Korra
I still enjoyed the movie for what it was. But seeing the characters' indigenous features being replaced to look more generically anime is really disappointing to see. Especially in a franchise like Avatar, and the creators' decision to change the cast was due to wanting to have actors who better match the characters' ethnicities
kink: deleting someone’s pointless comment by reblogging the post from the same person they did
I mean, that’s censorship but okay.

lets touch our antennae together. i don’t care anymore. i just wanna feel you. i don’t care that it’s not allowed or it’s weird. fuck the colony. let’s go off into the long grass where no one can find us and touch antennae. just you and me
