The whole world watches you with hawk-like eyes, and words sharp like talons. It is a vicious walk that many can not do. And when those eyes on you since birth, fame has always walked the fickle line of enjoyable and agonizing.
You are the definition of a nepo baby. Your family comes from a line of Hollywood fame. From directors and producers, to actors big and small, your fate was always to be in Hollywood fame. It worked out. You were in movies and shows before you knew how to speak and walk. Lights were your mobiles, boom mics and scripts were your toys. You walked, talked, and experienced life as an actor. That’s all that you knew. The advantages were great. People loved you. You were seen as the heir of Hollywood. An A-List star before you were twelve. It’s amazing. Being famous is amazing. Being you is fucking amazing.
But then you fell into the trap that many child stars fall into. Recklessness, rebellion, and honestly, batshit crazy activities. Being rude to paparazzi, arrests, anonymous programs, risky activities with riskier people. Who knew that the public didn’t like that. The brightest and upcoming star of Hollywood was imploding. You are no longer loved and adored by the masses. Instead, you were deemed “hard to work with”, “inappropriate”, “reckless”, and a “fucking asshole”.
Those honorifics tanked your family’s name. Not only are you seen as a social pariah, but your family’s connections have been tainted by your bad decisions. The world of Hollywood holds everyone with loose fingers, and one wrong move, you are dropped off the face of the earth.
You don’t want that. You can’t have that. You won’t have that. This is your life. This is your destiny.
Your plan: become Hollywood’s brightest star again. Transform yourself into the perfect PR model that will make the world fall in love with you again. Act in movies, kiss babies, be what the machine wants you to be. They loved you once, they can surely love you again. You will not let your legacy die with a few, several, MANY mistakes. “Take Two, Action!” is a drama interactive fiction—loosely based off of the tv show, Bojack Horseman— about the pathway back to stardom. This is a +18 piece of fiction that talks about topics of substance use, past traumas, generational expectations. It will contain substance use, talks of mental health, self destructive behaviours, skippable sexual scenes, profanity, and more aspects of the famous Hollywood life.

Movies from them come out once in a blue moon, and they’re always critical successes. It was a surprise to everyone when they handpicked you to be the lead to their latest movie. Hopefully, you don’t disappoint O and make your claim as just another childhood actor to them.

PERSONALITY: Optimistic, honest, and adaptable. After being in Hollywood for as long as they have, one would think that Quinn would be cynical and without light in their eyes. That is not the case for Quinn. Unlike you, they had the opportunity to leave Hollywood, even if it was temporary. They changed. More than someone would expect. Luckily, they are truly a grounding presence in the world of fame.
APPEARANCE: A Greccian beauty, must with something mysterious. If the feeling of safety could be a person, it was Quinn. Cool yet tawny skin. Dark, emotional green eyes. Their hair is effortlessly styled messy, reddish-brown hair that blends in with their skin. A face like that deserves to be in front of a camera. M!Quinn is 5’11 with an athletic build. His hair falls right above his shoulders and is pulled back into a half up, half down hairstyle. F!Quinn is 5 '9 with an athletic and curvaceous body. Her hair is choppy and falls to her collarbone, and she wears it with a claw clip. Their signature look, their best friend bracelet they share with you, and their handy dandy messenger bag.
Selene/Silas Fox: The Costar
PERSONALTY: Guarded, passionate, and absolute. Even though they haven’t been in the spotlight for as long as you have, they have the personality of someone who does. They’re cold and off-putting. They’re not someone who is the lead because they never “fit” the look. They’re hard to protect themselves, but they yearn for acceptance beyond anything else. They want someone to be on their level, just as passionate, just as dedicated.
APPEARANCE: Ethereal. They’re almost too beautiful. Dark, rich brown skin. Dark brown eyes with a sharp and steady gaze. Hairstyles alternate, but the hair is as perfect as everything else. Fashion runs in their blood, and an outfit repeater they are not. If they weren’t an actor, they’d be a model honestly. Male!S is 6’1, lean and muscular build. His hair is cropped into a fade. Signature look is his gold earrings and his trimmed facial hair. Female!S is 5’10 with a lean and elegant build. Her hair changes, but she usually dons a blowout. Her signature look is her gold eye makeup and her sophisticated nail art, and M!S is gold rings and his monochromatic fashion.
Olivia/Oliver Knight: The Director
PERSONALITY: Aloof, old-fashion and curt. No one knows a lot of them. Just their work and their intimidating presence. There’s a curiosity to who they are. Movie making comes naturally for them; people, not so much. A type-A individual who doesn’t embrace change well, but is always chasing something exciting creatively. Truly a dynamic being.
APPEARANCE: Carved from marble. Poets would write sonnets and poems about their beauty. Golden tan skin. Light brown eyes with crows feet, always covered by their glasses. O’s hair is neat and styled. Male!O hair is styled pushed back with salt and pepper hair. Female!O is a chin length bob with salt and pepper hair. Breaktaking truly. Male!O is 5 '11, average build with some definition. His signature look always includes his single signet ring and a pack of cigarettes. Female!O signature look has her ornate cross necklace and her vintage cigarette holder.
Juliana/Julian “Jules” Sterling: The PR Relationship
PERSONALITY: Confident, suave, and quick witted. The perfect celebrity. They are someone you’d love to share a drink with, or even a bed. They’re a magnet for everyone’s attention. That is a double dye sword for them however. Everyone wants Jules, but no one wants Jules. They present what Hollywood is, a glittering facade of beauty that hides the gritty truths that seeps through the mask.
APPEARANCE: The face of a star. Hollywood hot without looking manufactured. Porcelain skin with freckles on the nose and cheeks. Stormy grey, almond shaped eyes, always wandering for something fun. Tattoos litter their skin. Long, black hair that’s effortlessly messy. They look like they came straight from a fantasy book. All variants of Jules have mid-back length hair that is cut in a wolfcut. Male!J and NB!J are 6 '0 with a statuesque and lithe build. Female!J is 5’8 with a slender build. Her hair is pulled in a half up, half down. All of their signature looks include silver jewelry, a peak of their intricate back tattoo and their wolfish grin.

Within the very confines of Virela is a sprawling, gleaming metropolis, an urban landscape that is brimming with opulence and boundless opportunity. It is a place where dreams take shape for those with the will to chase them. Virela promises success and fulfillment, drawing people from all corners of the world, each seeking to carve out their own future into the core of the city. However, despite its allure and beauty, it is plagued by an unrelenting series of disappearances.
The authorities, despite the best of their efforts, have never been able to uncover the truth behind the missing people. No matter how thorough the searches; no matter how many resources are poured into the investigations, there is no evidence - no trace of where the victims may have gone. The disappearances often occur in clusters, sometimes simultaneously, throughout different parts of the city. The police sift through endless files and lead after lead, but nothing ever connects the victims. it is almost as though they vanish without a trace, erased from the city with no explanation.
You have lived your entire life within Virela. It was all you ever knew, the only place that had offered you anything that had resembled a life, and yet, it had never felt like home. For the better part of your childhood, your grandmother raised you, her presence a constant anchor. She guided you throughout your development in your adolescence. She was determined to remain by your side, to see you grow into the person she believed you could be.
Then, your grandmother vanished on the morning of your fifteenth birthday.
The authorities, alike many others, attempted to scour throughout the city for her, only to return in vain. You were then placed into the the care of the foster system. However, her missing presence had already left you haunted with apparitions of her in every corner of your life.
You struggled to live without her, a lesson that you had to shoulder, although it never became easier - even whenever you became older. Virela may have been a sanctuary, but it was one that cost you, a city where leaving its confines was closer to a dream than a reality. To escape meant to leave behind everything, because of that, most people stayed due to the fact that they could never afford to. You stayed because there was nowhere else for you to go, and no way for you to get there.
The city had taken your grandmother, and with it any sort of chance that you might’ve had to escape.
Many years later, you stand at her funeral - watching as the closed casket is lowered into the earth - after her corpse had been stumbled upon by passerby. It was seen as a possible break-through for the disappearances occurring within Virela. However, knowing now that she was dead, it weighed heavily on your heart. You forced yourself to keep your composure for your grandmother's sake.
The funeral is nothing but a blur, soft-spoken words whispered over her body no longer meaningful, as if the true grief of it all cannot be contained in such rituals.
Afterward, you return to what was left of her apartment, where her presence still lingers in the walls. The apartment is cold, silent, and almost unfamiliar, as though time itself had abandoned it. You attempt to reconnect with the memories that echoes throughout the apartment, but it all feels distant.
You try to rest within the comfort of your grandmother's old bedroom, but your insomnia is an old companion that has you turning in the bed, the hours slipping by you. Eventually, your exhaustion claims your body, allowing you to fade into a restless sleep.
When you do awaken, it is not to the comfort of her bedroom. The room you knew, the room where her warmth once filled every corner, is gone. Instead, you are lying on rough, almost numbing pavement, your fingers stinging from the cold.
The world around you is empty, strange. It bears no resemblance to Virela. The air is thick with an unnatural fog that clings to your skin and obscures your vision, twisting the image of your surroundings. An oppressive silence poisons the air that you breathe, which has you becoming increasingly apprehensive as you try to gather yourself.
Now, as you maneuver your way through, will you succumb to the unknown that surrounds you, or will you be able to escape the suffocating grip of this mysterious world?

A lunar-struck vourdalak, in opposition of his indiscriminate hunger and instincts that ( temporarily ) rest dormant, Achilles pursues a vast majority of the entities that plague Xinthero - unbidden - with the intention to slaughter. He is a reclusive man, albeit one that sustains a decorum that is almost unfitting for him. He may have been able to rescue you once, but do be wary not to become too comfortable in his presence.
ECHO
— THE OCCULTIST. { F / M / NB }
Echo is nothing but an electric bundle of nervousness whenever you are first introduced to each other. They dismiss their capabilities whenever it is brought into discussion - that they are only a student of the Occult and just a lone wanderer. It makes you almost question how they may have been able to last as long as they have alone. It is a question that lingers, however, you always end up keeping it to yourself without fail. There are a lot more questions than answers whenever it comes to Echo.
LETHE
— THE COURIER. { F }
An almost eternal shepherd for those who are first brought to Xinthero. Lethe is a constant that, albeit a woman of not so many words, prioritizes those that are under her care. Accompanied by her Fae companion, she wishes for nothing but to assist you in escaping this world, similar to those who have arrived before you.
FABLE
— THE HAUNTED. { NB }
Corrupted with the fragments of a remnant Soul within the edges of their mind, Fable is a mercenary - a disposable entity to those who are able to compensate them for their services. They are direct and unafraid to make decisions that may be deemed risky, advocating for themself in order to improve and challenge their limits. Fable is uncaring for the well-being of others, but if it adds a handful of coins into their pocket, they can be convinced otherwise.

— THE EXECUTIONER. { F }
A servant of the Crimson Veil, an organization infested throughout most of Xinthero's terra firma, ??? serves as one of their many exterminators. The both of you seem to continuously encounter each other — to the point it almost doesn't feel like a simple coincidence. It manifests an anomalous kind of curiosity in you; a desire to know a bit more about this mysterious stranger.
