"i shouldn’t eat this" I say as I shove it into my mouth
#1 reason I hate the world:
Pack of cigarettes = ~ $8-15 Bottle of alcohol = ~$15-30
Vial of insulin = $200
Oh, and let’s not even get into blood sugar meters, test strips, lancets, pen needles, syringes, long acting insulin, fast acting insulin, glucogon, glucose…
Trying to find a good endocrinologist is like trying to find a god damn unicorn.
Graduation AKA How much diabetes crap can I shove in my bra without my robe looking frumpy?
I had the same problem.
Unless you're not insulin dependent. Like a lot if type 2s. Then Easter candy makes you want to cry.
Help Please!
New post about why insulin can never be administered as an oral medication. I kind of had an "ah ha!" moment.
I’m taking a class on social media and my semester long project is to create a blog. Whoo! I basically took my blog from here and remade it into a WordPress blog that my professor can track.
Please do me a favor - I’m being graded on site/post visits and interaction.

I want to make a tumblrbetic directory, so reblog if you have diabetes...no matter the type!
Reblog this if you have Diabetes.
So I have Diabetes and I was just wondering how many other Diabetics are there on tumblr. So Reblog if you have Diabetes.
So I went to the endo yesterday and guess what? My meter has been reading 20 points higher than my actual blood sugar.
I hope this isn’t happening to me because if it is I’m gonna fucking freak out because I’ve been in the 70’s and 80’s. I use an ultra 2 though.
They just ended up giving me another one touch mini but my numbers have been much more normal and make a lot more sense. Really glad my pancreas isn't getting worse like I thought.

Do not ever approach someone who is suffering from a chronic disease and claim that it is “preventable”. If it’s so “preventable” then trade places with me and show me how easily you can reverse the damage and be 100% healthy again.
Oh wait, it doesn’t work that way.
Type 1 diabetes basics;
1) No I didn’t eat too much sugar, my immune system attacked my pancreas (because it’s retarded) and stopped it from functioning properly.
2) I can guarantee a 99.9% chance that me and your grandma or granddad do not have the same type of diabetes
3) Yes I do have to do…
Except, NO, Type 2 diabetes cannot be reversed.
Technically Type 2 cannot be reversed because you cannot turn time back to when you didn’t have diabetes. By careful diet and exercise, you can “reverse” the pathophysiology of the disease and therefore require less medication. You would need to constantly keep up the healthier lifestyle in order to stay off the medication.
Exactly. It still is a constant battle their entire lives. There is no living without restrictions.
